I want to start off by saying, I hate giving bad reviews. We walked into this restaurant with very high hopes for a new, nice, Pottstown diner. The service and friendliness was great. But the food and attention to peoples orders was lacking. We arrived about 1:30 on a Saturday. They were busy which we were happy about. We were very patient with our waitress and waiting for our food. They seemed very overwhelmed, and unorganized. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. It was taken by the manager or the owner of the diner. We weren’t sure. He was very nice and apologetic. Our waitress was a very sweet older lady. I ordered the flounder stuff with crab meat. Which includes a “bread basket”, side salad, and two sides. I ordered the mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli as my side. When my side salad arrived, it had tomatoes, which I asked for no tomatoes but it wasn’t a big deal because they weren’t diced. My ranch was also severely watered down. No flavor of ranch at all. When my food order arrived, my stuffed flounder was on one huge plate by itself. Looked silly. The waitress had to ask me what were my sides . I reminded her I ordered mashed potatoes with gravy and broccoli. They came out about 4 minutes later. My son ordered a bacon omelette with American cheese. It arrived with no cheese and Burnt white toast. My fiancé ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and received a grilled chicken wrap. I let the waitress know he received the wrong thing. She apologized again, and said she put the order in correctly. They just didn’t make it correctly. She then proceeded back to get the manager. He then assured my fiancé, he will make his wrap right away. He waited about 7 minutes for his correct wrap to come out. He ate two bites of it and said I had a weird aftertaste. My son and I also tasted it, and it had to be the worst wrap I’ve ever tasted. I still don’t know what that horrible taste was. It was basically a grilled chicken wrap, just lightly drizzled with generic buffalo sauce. It was seriously gross. The waitress even asked him if he didn’t like it and we told her he did not. My daughter ordered the Mac and cheese, kids meal. When it arrived it was super dry kraft mac & cheese. She also did not eat her mac & cheese which the waitress also commented about again. With my youngest daughters meal, we asked for a side of cheese whiz for her french fries. The lady said she would check if they had it. She ended up bringing my daughter cheese whiz, but we later found out it was jalapeño cheese because it was super spicy for my 5 year old daughter. (Which we were not made aware until she started freaking out because it was burning her tongue). My flounder was very mushy and slimy. I’m not even sure if it was fully cooked on the inside. The mashed potatoes was good and the broccoli was very crunchy. We didn’t complain that so much was messed up or just not good when we got our bill. We didn’t want to be a karen. We went to pay our bill and realized they charged us for 4 sodas when we had 2. Not only do they forget your order but they try to overcharge you. Almost $12 for 2 sodas. Our waitress again apologized and said that was her managers fault. I pray this diner can catch up and get more organized. There’s such potential here and they did amazing on the renovations. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because the staff was all super friendly, overwhelmed and apologetic. I hope to return in a few weeks/months to update this review with positive feedback. Praying it’s just a grand opening fluke. I’m rooting...
Read moreWe live in the are and always looking to find a nice sit down place. The previous owners we were not fans how they ran the place but we recently decided since new owners took over why not check it out.
We seen the other reviews was very positive and we agree with the the portions are amazing, pricing is done well, and the food is what you expect for the money you pay.
The first time we want we just had dinner. I had a roast beef sandwich with mash potatoes. The roast beef sandwich was tender and the roll was good. The mash potatoes was so so. Didnt have the greatest taste but wasn't bad. For desert we had a cinnamon bun cheesecake and it was very enjoyable and had good taste to it.
The second time we went we took a friend for breakfast. And as a whole the table enjoyed it. I had the pancake deluxe .which comes with sausage, bacon, ham and huge plate of fluffy pancakes. definitely a fight to finish it all and its not because its bad or anything.just the sheer amount of food you get.
I think the only thing this place may kind of lack is there staff they were nice but seemed to be lacking little at times but besides that a place we will be coming to if we like a nice home made meal. But check them out who knows maybe youll have the same experience or total opposite.
Update: i have returned again twice since my first two trips. And i had to re do my review little i think the place is super nice and atmosphere is amazing. I have tried there open face turkey sandwich which was not good at all. Tasted like on the bread they had sprayed on cooking butter which dominated the whole meal and made me little sick in stomach. Than i had the pot roast sandwich which really didn't want but they were out of the roast beef for some reason. The meat for pot roast was cooked fine but just no flavoring at all and the roll just fell apart while eating it. I didn't even finish it just took it home. I think because these latest visits i had to change my rating a bit.
I feel this place can be very hit or miss depending the time you go it seems closer to the weekend the food is better but during the week they are plagued with staffing issues, random managers, and food quality. So i would suggest as my final that you go the weekend gets some breakfast for sure. Youll def get your moneys worth. I wish...
Read moreThis Diner has the look and feel of an old 50s 60s style Diner with a welcoming atmosphere. t The WQ staff makes you wonder if you have been here everyday for the last ten years with the way they interact with you and make sure you are left with one of the best dining experiences I've had in my life. The menu has everything you'd expect to see on a typical Diner menu but it also has a few unique items that taste as if they are from a main line restaurants kitchen. There's plenty of parking and the WQ looks and always smells so clean with the smell of the fresh baked desserts hitting you as soon as you open the front door. Even when it's busy I've yet to see the staff struggle to keep up with the customers requests. I normally stop in during the evening hours because they stay open late and I've never been treated any different whether it was 6pm or 10 pm you are always welcomed with a smile and kind words. The staff really seems to work together well as a team and I also noticed that the nighttime manager makes it a point to walk around the entire Diner introducing herself and getting to know everyone who enters the Diner. The whole place was really an enjoyable experience every time I've eaten there never once was I disappointed in the food or the service. I usually have Ricki or Leah as my server who do a wonderful job and always have kind words and pretend to like my jokes.. lol. Sunday for breakfast is no different than any other visit there and I apologize that I don't remember everyone's names but the owner must be a wonderful person to work for because you can feel the family vibe throughout all the employees and you can tell they love their jobs. I'm in awe at the way this Diner runs I'll put the staff up against any exclusive restaurants on the Main line any day I'm being honest the kitchen staff is fast and consistent with my food every time I came here and I'm leaving this review after my 20th visit here. I joe this place stays here just like it is for good because I've seen a few come and go at this location and I wasn't sure if I wanted to even stop in the WQ for fear of it being like the former diners here but boy am I ever glad that I did. Don't change a thing you have a great team here and I'm going to make this my usual spot when I'm...
