Board & Brew - Poway — Restaurant in Poway

First impression was that this was a super clean facility, gal behind the counter was friendly as soon as we walked in and patient when we couldn't decide what we wanted. The beers all sound great but we'll be back for that (got food to go). The wait was minimal (they also weren't too busy), you can see into the kitchen so you know what's happening. All the staff had masks on properly which is appreciated! The pastrami though- super greasy. There's a little onion and pepperocini fried in there with it that I removed cause it added nothing to the sandwich. I did bite into something harder then expected in the pastrami (I'm more used to someone having it stewing I guess and not just fried on a flattop. It was all very chewy/hard). It was a decent size I guess but $11 for a sandwich is still kind of redic to me. My partner enjoyed his Italian sandwich. I will be back to try the other more fresh looking sandwiches as they look a lot better and I just chose poorly. The potato salad is on the sweet side, with lots of pickles and stuff. It's OK, not my fave.

Some other downsides: They were out of tops and I really wanted a drink to go :( (I will deal somehow) and ... they don't have Nutritional information available... anywhere? In spite of it being like, a LAW that you have to? We can't even find stuff online, their website? I hope they take care of this it looks like people have been asking them on Facebook since 2019.

I hope when we go back (I love me a good sandwich and they have potential) that I can update...

We come here fairly often. My wife and I like different sandwiches so I would get 1/2 Turkado and she would get 1/2 of the Toms choice. All of a sudden they only do half sandwiches on select items. That’s fine I guess but it doesn’t make any sense in my opinion. Also, the girl that took my order had a bit of an attitude once I questioned the “policy”. The sandwich was pretty good.

Review UPDATE: OK, I figured out which sandwiches are available in half size. Ordered a Turkado sandwich today. Sandwich was very good, so I will keep coming back. Young girl that took my order was rude and was rushing me to make a decision despite nobody else in line. She truly did not want to be at work today. That said, I know it’s hard to get good help these days, but I think the store manager should sit down with all employees and explain to them that a positive five minute interaction can make all the difference. No reason to be rude to a customer that wants a minute to...

This building was newly added to this plaza. Great addition to Poway. Has a mixture of indoor and outdoor seating. Even a sports bar with beer and tv screens. It gets busy during lunch and evening on sports days.

It’s a pay first type of place and self serve. Hot sandwiches are “from the grill” category and cold sandwiches are under “speciality”. It’s all in full size sandwiches unless you order from “speciality” then you can get a half.

I wish they offered a combo that was half sandwich and half salad. I ended up getting Baja wrap that’s chicken breast with avocado in a Spanish wrap. So moist and soft.

The girl said Turkado is the most popular but I didn’t want a cold sandwich. That’s pretty much the same as Baja Wrap except is on sourdough bread and Turkmen vice...
