Got the food and water pretty quickly after sitting down. The service was excellent—Kaylie was attentive and noticed when I needed more water without me having to ask, which I really appreciated. Kelcie was also super helpful and made sure I got a side salad with my meal. I really appreciated her quick and friendly service. I ordered the Wagyu burger with fries and a side salad. The burger was juicy, the fries were crispy, and the salad was fresh with plenty of dressing on the side. One unique touch I loved was the laminated menu and dry erase marker setup—very creative and efficient. The interior really commits to the backyard theme, with fake grass and picnic-style tables, which creates a fun and relaxed vibe. The bathroom was also spotless, which is always a good sign. The only minor inconvenience was the paper towels on the table. Since they weren’t in a dispenser, I had to manually tear off a clean section while my hands were a bit greasy—nothing major, but worth mentioning. Overall, great food, fantastic service, and a memorable atmosphere. I’d definitely come back again.

Finally came here since they opened. When you walk in it's a surprisingly different atmosphere. This place is for fun and backyard grills! It's wheelchair accessible and easy, with sit where you like seating. The service was knowledgeable, quick and enjoyable. They have paper towels accessible on the table which is great for messy eaters and games all around. Definitely family friendly. When you order you mark your menu with your selections. The pricing was decent. We ordered the specialty burgers; BBQ burger and Diablo burger with Chilli cheese fries (you have to order the sides separately). You can also "make your own" burger. The Chilli cheese fries were big enough to share between my husband and me. The burgers are very juicy and delicious, once you pick them up, you won't want to set it them down! Doesn't even leave a 'heavy' after taste like other bbq places. I'll be back, as I recommend this place and I'm not even a burger person! So good!

I wanted to try this place since it opened (after LVB closed) and finally got a chance to for lunch. The food was pretty good, no complaints there. I got the Cheesesteak and the bacon Mac & cheese, and my friend got the Green Chile Cheeseburger with tots. Both of us enjoyed our food and portions. The atmosphere in the restaurant is a little lacking, however. Walked in and was surprised as to how it was styled; looked like a child’s POV of a backyard. The place was not completely packed and we waited about 30 min for our food…I also took into account that it’s a newer place and they may not be “in their groove” yet. One last input of mine: I think the “play area” for children was placed close enough to the eating area to be annoying when you’re trying to have a conversation and children are directly behind you, banging blocks off the wall and darts on a dartboard.

Great food, fantastic service! And it's an extremely clean and well kept place. The dining room was spotless.

They say on the menu that you will be treated like family here and man, was that true! We had an amazing waitress who went above and beyond literally every step of the way. I wish I would have asked her name. She was the only waitress working at around 7pm on Monday August 19th 2024. Give her a raise, cause she's phenomenal! Seriously one of the best waitresses I've ever had, and that's some high praise. There was a small issue with my order (it happens, no biggie at all), and she corrected it for me and gave me an additional 25% off for the inconvenience, which was really not necessary - I was totally fine with waiting a few extra minutes for my dinner to come out - but just goes to show you that they really do care about treating you right, treating you like family and doing everything they possibly can to make sure you leave happy.

Food was amazing. I had the hatch green chile burger, and it was tremendous! Highly recommended. Also, their fries are friggin' delicious and they serve them with a side of this excellent homemade ranch. I will absolutely be back to get this again, and I can't wait to try out the rest of their menu. Being a BBQ joint, things can get sloppy, and they have a roll of paper towels at every table. Bonus points for that.

We went at night, and for lighting they killed the main lights and turned on the strings of patio lights that are hung inside. It made it an even cooler atmosphere, with the backyard vibe and artificial grass, picnic tables, dartboard and other games. Restrooms were meticulously kept.

When we left, everyone thanked us, including the guy in the kitchen, and the waitress even gave us to-go cup refills of our iced teas. This place is a phenomenal addition to Prescott Valley and I hope they manage to make it here! I know I'll be doing my part by recommending them to everyone. Haven't been that impressed with a restaraunt in a while.

My ONLY suggestion would be to maybe get a liquor license, and offer a couple bottled and tap beers. A cold beer is great with BBQ. Not sure how many folks would want a drink when they go there though, so don't know if it's actually worth it in the end.

Everyone working there - give yourself a pat on the back. You guys are doing it right! I am only in PV maybe 4-6 weeks throughout the year, but whenever I am back here, I'll make a point of stopping in Dad's Backyard Grill.

P.S. Just read the reviews. The Tom guy seems like a real piece of work. Cuss out the staff, leave without paying, and then write a bad review? You can get right up out of here buddy. Wish I had been there when he made that scene. Also, the people complaining about the prices must not eat out a lot - or get out of the house much in general. It's 2024, inflation is rampant and unchecked, and a fast food meal is $13-15. Paying $18 for a homemade burger and homemade fries is very reasonable and on par with every other quality dining establishment I've been to recently. Do I wish it was cheaper? Sure. I wish everything was cheaper. But they are ABSOLUTELY not skimping on quality, and it takes money to make quality food. This isn't Applebee's with garbage frozen everything. This is real food made with love and care. Also, I found the number of complaints about service time to be no longer relevant. Perhaps they had some hiccups when they first opened - all restaraunts do, and they are less than a year old - but by the time of our visit they clearly had them ironed out. Service was quick. I get the sense that most of the people leaving negative reviews are just those obnoxious folks who like to complain about everything. Don't pay them any mind, and...

Many people incorrectly assume that anyone can easily prepare a humble hamburger. Wrong. Achieving the perfect burger requires a delicate harmony of ingredients and the cook’s expertise in cooking the patty just right. Assuming the cook gets the cooking part right, there’s still the seasoning to consider. Most under-season or over-season the meat. Then there’s the shaping of the patty. If you over-work the meat, the patty will be dry and dense. There’s a lot of technique just in getting the patty cooked and seasoned correctly, not to mention know if you’ve really purchased quality meat! Then there’s the bun. The bun should be able to stand up to the patty and really complement the word you’ve put into the meat, assuming the patty yields its juicy flavors that it should, without the bun collapsing or falling apart. The bun is where flavor and texture matters.

I went basic and chose the “Build-Your-Own” option. I ordered their 50/50 Ground Chuck/Brisket on a buttery toasted Brioche Bun. With lettuce, tomato, pickle, topped with smoked gouda, and chipotle aioli on the side. My side was their beer battered fries, and I rarely order fries because I try to avoid the fat and extra carbs, but thought what the heck, “beer battered sounds tasty.” The battered fries and chipotle aioli combination was a perfect “10” in my book. As for the burger, if there was more room in my stomach, I would have ordered a second one. I ordered my burger, medium-rare, and that’s exactly how it came. Perfectly cooked to order. The flavor combination of chuck and brisket is spot ON. I have not had a burger this fine in a long time. I look forward to returning to try some of their other menu combinations, which I think are unique and thoughtful. Another major nice thing they offer is a quality gluten-free bun for my wife (who must eat GF for medical reasons). She said the GF bun was one of the best she’s ever had, and that’s rare for her to say, as most GF bun are dry and tasteless.

As for the ambiance, this is a great place for young families. All the tables are wooden picnic tables. Kids can enjoy a variety of backyard games on the artificial turf, which adds to the motif. This is a kid-friendly place, so if you’re looking for a quiet place without kid noise in the background, look elsewhere. But if you enjoy seeing kids smile and laugh and have a good time, and that reminds you of years gone by, then this is the place for you. The wait staff is friendly and customer oriented.

When we return to Prescott Valley, Dad’s Backyard Grill is a definite stop for us. It will be difficult for you to find a better burger, based on my first...

We had a reservation made today for a party of 13 and were extremely disappointed. It was the second time we went in with a bigger group and the first time gave them the benefit of the doubt since they were newer, but this time was even worse. They served all of the smaller groups before ours, even when they arrives well after we did. It took a long time to even get drinks and an hour before we had 3 appetizers brought to the table. Our menus and regular order were not even taken for about an hour. We did not have our food until just under 2 hours of our arrival and when it was brought out, they did not bring any silverware so we had to ask for some. Turns out they were still running the dishwasher and did not have any clean utensils. They should at the very least say something about not having silverware, but instead we had to ask for it. To top it off, one of the menus got lost so someone did not get a plate even after waiting that long and then a burger was not cooked properly so it had to be sent back. Sure, sometimes things are not cooked right, but the cook brought it out directly and proceeded to say "who had the hockey puck". Our server, who is related to the owners, did not check on our table very often and it was not until we walked up to pay the bill after being there 2 & 1/2 hours did she quickly and not very sympathetically say "sorry about the long wait".

We also overheard a table next to us say they were not supposed to have cheese on the burger because she is lactose intolerant and they were trying to just take it off instead of remaking it. And then another table walked out saying to cancel their order on the way out.

The food is good and it is a nice place for a family for the games and such with the kids, but for the very very poor service and the expensive prices, we will never be going back. There seem to be a lot of good reviews and my only thought is they must have gone in with a small table. Really frustrating because we even made a reservation and they could have planned accordingly or not accepted the...
