The usual narrative: A gem of a Thai restaurant hidden in a sleepy nondescript strip mall. The first time I stumbled in, a thousand-yard-stare written across my mute face, a very kind woman welcomed me from behind the counter. "Take your time looking over the menu, let us know if you have any questions." The host's warm and patient demeanor immediately put me at ease. I opted for the spicy flat noodle with fried tofu, spice level 4. I was not disappointed with this selection. A meal this good must be savored, eaten mindfully. Every bite astonished me: the tofu was cooked to perfection, complimenting the melding of the other flavors and vegetables. Particularly the fresh basil. Dee Thai Express is the BOMB. This establishment combines the best of Thai food and quality service into a quaint and cozy building that in my opinion, is one of the best small business food experiences you can enjoy here in Prescott. Having been multiple times, their variety and quality of food is exceptional. My favorite is their Spicy Noodle (which is as expected, very spicy) and their Pad Thai. In future visits, I look forward to trying their curry and soups. The prices are also very reasonable for the amount of food given, as 1 appetizer and 1 entree is certainly enough for 2 people. Do note, they do not shy away from cranking up the heat when you want, so be careful, especially for those with a tongue not used to heat. Ever since I have discovered this establishment, it has quickly taken a spot in a high position of places I am willing to spend money on and every time it is worth it.
