This is a very thorough course and I'm mostly happy so far.

I do feel that there are some badly out-of-date videos though - It appears most of this was done in 2018 and 2021 and in the sections with the older videos where the instructor references 2023 as far into the future is exceedingly confusing, having the comments talking about faraway times which are actually three months out for me.

I also find it to be very confusing that the course is constantly saying you have to have a categorized drone to do OOP stuff, when there ARE RFIS categorized drones but no OOP drones (Save that one fixed wing $10K drone in Cat 3). A better way to run that whole section would be to say "until there are OOP rated drones" in stead of "you need a 'categorized' drone" when essentially no such thing exists and in reality 99.9-percent of us fall into the first slide of the section where it said you can't be over any person (unless they are your crew or are sheltered).

Even more confusing is with the extended discussion of drones they can hover vs drones that can transition in the sane section - it seemed through most of that training that you could transition over people but not hover, unless you had the $10K drone, which could hover. BUT but at the end of the section I had come to realize that all those videos were describing that you could transition over people with the $10K drone (or possibly some unknown drone that maybe weighs less than 255 grams with propellor guard in place) and that no one can ever hover over people. It was really confusing and I am not even sure know that I have things correct currently.

Doing those videos while referring to a specific drone or referring to "a future drone not currently cleared" might be a much better way to do the section because it would eliminate a lot of the variables that were being factored at once.

And the videos referencing Radio ID in September 2023 badly need to be brought up to date as that's only a...

I can’t say enough good things about Pilot Institute! From start to finish, the experience has been incredibly smooth, user-friendly, and engaging. The video lessons are clear, professional, and easy to follow, with just the right balance of depth and simplicity. I especially love the interactive maps in some lessons—they make complex airspace concepts much easier to understand.

The quizzes strike the perfect balance—not too easy, not too hard—and really help reinforce the material without feeling overwhelming. One of my favorite features is how easy it is to pick back up after taking time off. Whether it's been a day or a week, the course layout makes it simple to jump back in without losing your place or forgetting key content.

What really sets Pilot Institute apart, though, is the self-paced format. There's no pressure—you can move as fast or as slow as you need. Plus, the comment section is a hidden gem. Not only can you ask questions, but you’ll often get thoughtful, timely responses from instructors or fellow learners. The team is incredibly responsive and supportive, and they often go the extra mile by recommending tools, gear, and resources to help you succeed.

Everything you need is provided—whether you're preparing for your Part 107 or just diving deeper into drone knowledge. Overall, it’s a well-designed, high-quality learning platform that I genuinely enjoy using. Highly recommend to anyone interested in drones...

Absolutely INCREDIBLE! Greg, you've truly done a phenomenal job with this course. I am a professor myself (in the business school at the University teaching Real Estate and Finance classes, so not a similar topic as this class AT ALL, but still an educator) and try to be as detailed and thorough as possible with my own students. That being said, I can truly tell the amount of effort, dedication, thought, and time that you have put into this course. You very clearly make an effort to use several different ways to teach us and discuss topics to try and cater to different learning styles (i.e-examples, interactive maps, videos, quizzes, etc.) Educator to educator, this is honestly the most well made online course I have EVER seen and would recommend it to everyone I know! THANK YOU for doing such a wonderful job with this and I commend you for the level of detail and care that you have put into this class! I have never once felt "lost" per say on what to expect and everything was laid out in extreme detail even coming from a completely different background. I am in the real estate industry, so I am taking this course to better serve my clients and increase my marketability. As I said before, I have truly been in awe and extremely impressed with how well done this entire course has been laid out and put together. You should be very proud of yourself for what you have built within this community and your company....
