When a family comes in and says they want a table with a HIGHCHAIR and specifically says they DO NOT want a BOOSTER CHAIR please please seat them at a table with a highchair and don't get mad at them when they are frustrated that this happens to them each and every time they come in with a simple request. To clarify the food is always amazing along with the staff, never any issues. The only issue is (which actually turning into a family joke) is that my small child cannot sit in a booster seat. She falls out of it constantly, its not stable, flops around and it just doesn't work for us. Every time we come in we make the simple request we would like a table with a highchair, NOT a booster- we need a highchair. Simple right? No. Every time we are shown to a table or booth and given a booster chair. Then we watch as the poor staff has to run around to find us a better table with a highchair that we requested from the beginning. Then we apologize and state that we did request a highchair and not a booster. Its now turned into an internal family joke when we come in. This time I send my husband in to check in and once again request a highchair not a booster and to SPECIFY to hopefully avoid making the staff run around needlessly. Well....we were given a table and handed a booster seat. The table we were at did not have room for a highchair. Again we had to say sorry we asked for a highchair not a booster and I made the joke "this happens to us every time". INSERT Karen with nasty look on her face: comes to table with aggressive attitude out of nowhere that they "handed us the wrong thing because the table we were sat at cannot accommodate a highchair due to fire hazard". Ummm ok but we asked for a table with a highchair though? We said we did NOT want a booster. She repeats again the table cannot fit a highchair due to fire code. Call me crazy but...if someone asks for a table with a highchair and says NO booster...then seat them at a table that can ACCOMODATE a highchair? Im so confused. I repeat again yes but we did request a HIGHCHAIR. We would have gladly waited for a table that could TAKE A HIGHCHAIR, no big deal again this happens all the time. She repeats again and again about the fire code. At this point Im not sure if she understands the simple request we made? We ended up staying at the same table and they did produce a highchair as requested but my question is...why is this such a hard concept? The food and service is always amazing. Our waitress was a sweetheart. Why send someone over to give me attitude about my simple request and get mad that I wanted a highchair? Are you serious? On the way to the bathroom I passed two other small children sat in highchairs, did they have the same issue with getting a highchair? Is there another code word for highchair that I should be using instead? I felt like I was stuck in the twilight zone and they acted like we wanted to be served on the roof. I'm totally at a loss for words here. Will this stop us from coming back? No, its one of our favorite restaurants. But please pay attention when someone comes in with a simple request of a HIGHCHAIR. Why get mad at THEM when you give them something that doesn't...
Read moreIf it wasn’t for Lisa we would have given a 1 Star review because of the start of our visit and same thing for if it wasn’t for the lead hostess, we have given a 5 star review. A little story time.
We had a party of 9. We tried to reserve online which there was a 6 top limit. So When we first arrived I had walked in and explained that we made a reservation online and we actually needed to reserve a 9 top table instead and we understand that the same place wouldn’t be held in line. So we Gave them our name and phone number and our party size. The lady at front in blue shirt told me herself it would be 25-35 minutes. 30 minutes later we got a text and it said to get our group together to be seated. When we walked in they said oh this was for a 6 top if you guys have 9 people it will be 25-35 minutes. I said “I’m confused because I told you to cancel the 6 top and put us on the list for a 9 top. She said they didn’t have a reservation in their system for a 9 top at all. I told her so this mistake is obviously on you guys because somewhere on your end, our reservation got messed up if there is not a reservation in your system for 9. She the. Told me “No, this is not our fault at all, this is your fault for not calling in to reserve a 9 top.” I said I’m sorry, I walked in to tell you that we had 9 people and get on the waiting list. And even got a text confirmation after making the reservation. So we asked to speak to a manager, the lady in blue shirt at hostess stand proceeded to say she was a manager and there is nothing they could do about it and they would add us to the back of waiting list because they didn’t have us on their. (Which we later found out She absolutely was not a manager at all. She was only a lead and in training to be a manager.) I would highly advise whoever is in charge to not let this happen. She was very rude, didn’t take any responsibility and does not at all know how to treat customers. Even made us try to believe we were in the wrong for this. Luckily, while all this happened, Lisa, The real manager walked up and asked if everything was ok. We told her what was going on. She was amazing and asked what she could do and she was so sorry for the way we were treated. She asked if we minded sitting outside, which we responded it would actually be preferred. She had a table ready within the next two minutes. Our servers Alex and Alexander were both outstanding as well. Very kind, attentive, and professional. And we have to mention Gina as well, as she kept coming to check on us to make sure we had a great experience.
Over all the kindness of all the other people at this restaurant other than the lead hostess in blue shirt there made our experience well worth it. I would recommend this place to anybody as long as she was...
Read moreOkay where do I begin. Let me start and be very clear this is for the Texas Roadhouse in Prescott. I love Texas Roadhouse and the food has always been great in Phoenix and surrounding Phoenix areas. However, this is the 2nd time I've been to the Prescott one and had terrible food. Okay first. What does everyone love about Texas Roadhouse? Yes, ding, ding, ding, the rolls. Well the rolls we got we're rock hard. The girl who sat us, said she'd be back with butter. That never happened. When the waiter finally got to the table, some 10 minutes later I asked if we could get some different rolls, that the ones we received were hard and not even warm. He brought more rolls and butter, the rolls were just as hard and not warm at all. We got there at 2:30. It is my belief that these rolls were from the day before and they really don't have the newer hot rolls till the busy dinner hour and this is just the way it is at the 2:30 hour. Guys, food is ur business, throw those darn day old rolls out. Bread should always be fresh and preferably hot. I mean God, bread is probably one of the cheapest food items you could make. I'm a bread connoisseur, I find this unacceptable. Me and my family came to Prescott from Phoenix for my Mother in Laws 87 Birthday. She had never been to Prescott and we thought this would be a nice outing for her. My mother in law ordered her rib eye well done and was sure to tell the waiter she don't like any pink at all. Her steak came to the table rare. I ordered my filet mignon rare, and I received my steak raw. All of the baked potatoes were hard. No fluffy baked potatoes here. None of the people upfront upon entering were lively, upbeat, or welcoming. I could see if they were all senior citizens, but they all looked like teenagers. The only one that seemed a little upbeat was the guy who brought out the shrimp. This was my second trip to this Texas Roadhouse. My first was 5 years ago when my husband and I went to Prescott for our 20th anniversary. I ordered the filet mignon which ended up tasting like that stuff you clean the griddle with. The next morning when I woke up for a day of antiquing, I woke up sicker than a dog ending up cutting our trip short and drove back to Phoenix. My husband reminded me of this as we left the restaurant today, disappointed and 300.00 less in our pockets. You are a restaurant. Serve fresh, quality food. Act like you want to be around people or get out of the business. I did not see a smile on one worker in the whole place.... God, get happy, be joyful or go work...
