Not a great experience. We went once before and really enjoyed it but this time we found a hair on one of the entrees and we sent it back. Usually you ask the customer what they want done about the issue, but the plate was silently pulled from the table by the server. My friend who's order it was, went up front to ask that the plate not be remade. The server came back saying the plate was being remade but we told her we asked for it not to be. He was turned off and didn't want to eat anymore. The server left and came again saying the food was partially remade and we could have it no charge. She was sweet and obviously trying to give us the best service possible. She was insistent that we at least take the food to go, since we wouldn't be charged for the Togo food. The bill arrives (not split as we requested at the beginning of the meal) and we were charged for the food we sent back. We asked if this was the updated bill, again silently the server took the bill off the table and walked away. Another older lady came over to ask us questions about the hair, what it looked like, and informed us all the employees were either bald or with their hair tied back. The implication was that it was our own hair. I told her the hair was still on the plate that was taken away for her to identify. I'm not about to describe the hair that disgusted my friend two bites into his meal. She told us we could either not be charged or be charged and have the food Togo which was contrary to what the server told us. We didn't want the food Togo in the first place and only planned on taking it when the server insisted several times. Kinda rude of the manager or whoever the old lady was to make it seem like we're trying to get free stuff or we would send back food with our own hair in it. My fellow diners and myself are all in food service and were kind and never over the line or acting overly upset or demanding. By the way, it was wispy reddish hair a few inches long like the side cut bangs of the server that weren't secured in her pony tail. Not a big deal but thanks manager for resolving nothing.
Updated: As far as your response goes, the server doesn't need to be talked to as if it's her fault. I have worked in restaurants for many years, managing, serving, bartending. I'm well aware stuff happens. The issue wasn't the hair because it isn't 100 percent avoidable even with hair pulled back. And why would you ask what the hair looked like? If I saw a roach in the bathroom, would you ask me what species, how many legs it had or what its name was? A roach is a roach, a hair is a hair and it was found where it didn't belong. I sent back the plate with the hair for you to inspect but you threw it away. I don't need to describe it to you in order to get my issue fixed. What I told you should've been sufficient.
You're a stingy owner. I didn't ask for anything for free but you rescinded the offer made by someone representing your restaurant. And your comment when we were speaking in person about how you try to be perfect, but you fall short sometimes, made me feel like you thought I was being critical. I didn't need to be told that. I didn't expect perfection. I expect good customer service. Speaking to locals (who work at other high end restaurants and bars) about my experience and their experiences at your restaurant helped me to see I'm not alone in getting poor customer service at your restaurant and many of us have vowed not to return.
I'll be trying Dinner Bell next time at their...
Read moreI have been coming here since it was a tiny one room place with like ten tables. I have gotten the same thing every single time. Breakfast burrito with the sausage gravy on the side and fresh fruit. It used to come with one selection of meat and was like 10-12$ somewhere around there. I just called in a an order for pick up today and showed up and was told my total was 23$???? Now they are actually charging for the first portion of meat $3.25 as well as a second selection. This in addition to a burrito that is already 12$ and after fees and taxes it came to 23$. Also they have a nice big dining room now they must have gotten the adjoining space. I have always thought the food was great and so was the service. But I’m sorry there absolutely has to be something wrong with the business operation. To charge 23$ for food that cost under $5 a supply? Those numbers don’t make sense to me. They are always full to the max, with a wait, and have ALWAYS charged higher prices. I won’t be coming back. This is not small town enterprise! This is greed on top of a trendiness! Super disappointed! Makes me sad to call prescott home anymore, if this is what we are becoming. It really is turning into California! I checked other reviews and everyone is having the same problem. At least the real locals. “Not the people who took their profits from exploiting California and have now come here” the defense has been high quality ingredients. I’m sorry but quality products and fancy mugs with your logo on them and colorful trendy plates, are a lot different than just quality ingredients. When I ran a private country club in Wisconsin I could serve an entire banquet Organic Lamb chops and wild caught salmon for cost under $20 per person…. I think anyone who can’t see thru all the fancy signs, $100k plus display coolers, and expensive branding deserves to be ripped off! I have been hit in my business with material increases over 600% in 18 months. My prices are $2 more than three years ago! Reason being I chose to take the brunt of the impact, in my profit margin, and not beat up my customers! Also, I didn’t chose to double or triple my overhead right in the middle of the pandemic! I deduce, ownership exploitation, and employment of half truths to...
Read moreThis place seemed to have so much going for it. The Local has a trendy, bright, upbeat ambience with amazing coffee. The space is clean and colorful. The service was worth 20% gratuity on my visit thanks to Alexis. I've been following The local through covid19 and finally got the chance to try it. I like that they support local artists, local farms, and legacy beef. They have organic bacon! They make great hot sauce that is available for sale along with their coffee beans. Everything was going great until the food came.
For the price you're charged and the ingredients that are sourced I was expecting good food. Instead my tamales were ice cold in the center with underdone scrambled eggs and par cooked bacon that was never reheated to order. I have never sent food back or requested something else until this occasion. I did ask to have it replaced with a burrito because I figured that would be safe. The burrito sufficed but I could have gotten better for cheaper at a drive through mexican food restaurant. My partners eggs benedict was also cold and underwhelming. The none presentation of food was on a plastic plate that could not sit flat on the table without spinning around as we would try to use our forks. I had to hold the plate in place with my hand. After the build up from reviewing the menu and the ambience I was expecting a delicious hot breakfast. I visited Tuesday 11/17 around 10:00. Maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen. If I was in the area again I'd return for...
