Wonderful shops & restaurants! Whiskey row is part of the square in downtown Prescott and is one of my favorite places to shop and relax. The center buildings house the city hall, surrounded by huge trees and a park. It's beautiful! There is such a variety of shops; antique stores, art galleries, restaurants, gift shops, clothing, jewelry, tea shops, handmade candles, shoe stores, ice cream shops, etc. The haunted, Michael's hotel and Hassayampa Inn, two of the older hotels that can be found here. I love walking around and window shopping, stopping for lunch, some coffee or ice cream. During the spring and into October they have a variety of fairs, musical events and parades on weekends. The city does post monthly calendars showing the events available. This is a favorite location for locals and...
Read moreBecause we were not allowed to see the inside of any of the main bar's and places I took a visitor to Arizona to see. It was her one opportunity. I have in the past brought many many different people there. But I will no longer waste my time or their's. Prescott is officially off my tour guide list. Jerome Arizona was a close second to take off my list. I will also avoid Jerome as you could not go in any business without up to an hour wait and forget about eating at the haunted hamburger, officially off my tour list. From now on it's payson mogillon rim, natural bridge, Winslow, meteor crater, coal mine canyon, horseshoe bend, no longer wasting my time in Sedona, Flagstaff, Jerome, or Prescott. And I will never step foot near whiskey row again. Complete waste of...
Read moreRecently spent a week in AZ traveling North to South, but our one night on Whiskey Row In Prescott, may have been the most fun. Are you kidding? The Earps and Doc Holliday drank here, the latter winning $10,000 in one lucky night of poker. There are any number of great bars, pubs with each more interesting than the last. The Palace is the Crown Jewel and we chose it. It was here that Doc had his amazing streak and Virgil and Wyatt Earp hung out. When you walk through those swinging doors you walk back to the 1880s Wild West and are a kid again. Fantastic Bar in every way!Would recommend you try several of the fine establishments on WR and drink in all the fun. Great people watching that includes “real” modern day cowboys and lots of just plain nice...
