We had our wedding at the Grand Highland Hotel in this past October and it was so perfect! We had been looking at multiple venues, and truthfully were planning to get married in Flagstaff, but we knew right away it was the venue for us. Nancy was super responsive and easy to reach, and the entire staff were so friendly and helpful. The staff was a big part of what sold us on the venue, since they made us feel so comfortable. We booked the entire hotel, courtyard, and hub. We actually booked before the indoor areas were available, and we are so glad we added them on! The venue prior to the indoor area being done, and we are so glad we added it on! The venue is in a great location being on whiskey row and just a walk away from hotels, restaurants, bars, and shops. It was nice for the guests to be able to walk over for the most part, or stay very close nearby without having to find rides home. The venue also needs barely any decoration with the lighting, flowers, and ambiance. The setup was nice with the beautiful indoor area and historic charm and everything that was included, it was definitely worth it for us. We had our bridal party stay in the hotel and we had a blast. It was nice to have everyone so close. The one thing we would suggest is to make sure you grab all of the items needed from the downstairs and outside area before leaving at midnight, because when we came back we were not able to go outside to the courtyard to grab the bottom layer of our wedding cake or remaining alcohol bottles until the next morning. We had the rehearsal dinner in the courtyard the night before the wedding with a food truck, Sugar Skull rolling cafe. It was nice having the whole space to ourselves for the weekend, and to be so close to the bars for after! The rooms are SO cute, and all have a different theme. They are seriously so adorable, everyone loved it! It is great to have a venue that allows you to stay late, and has such a good location and setup. We truly have nothing bad to say about this venue at all. They were above and beyond helpful with everything and made our day go so smoothly. We recommend this venue 100%.

Read moreNOT WORTH THE MONEY! Expensive and the pictures look much better online than they do in person. The desk clerks were a bit short with their answers. The hotel offers a continental breakfast that would be delivered to your room, so when the clerk was explaining that to the couple in front of us, we were told to listen in so he didn't have to repeat it a second time. The web said the best time to visit Prescott was Jan and Feb due to lower hotel prices which is what attracted us to visit. The hotel was in downtown which is a plus and it did overlook the square, we'll give it that. During the night, we heard a car alarm going off constantly, traffic and people talking all night. It's definitely NOT ADA even though they claim to be. The only ADA would be handrails in the tub. They have a handicapped sign posted outside the room showing a wheelchair. There is no way a person in a wheelchair could access the rooms. All rooms are on the second floor. When we asked if they had an elevator, we were told NO by the desk clerk with a smirk and then were told the hotel is a "boutique" and was built in 1905. There was nothing BOUTIQUE about this hotel. We stayed in a boutique hotel in Kanab, Utah that was beautiful, had friendly staff, it was quiet and worth staying at again. Now to the room itself! The room was small, but clean. The bed was comfortable. There was no refrigerator, no microwave. It had a small rectangle window over the door with a small curtain that didn't fit the entire window. We ended up placing a towel over it to keep the hall light out. It appeared the bathroom floor was not swept or vacuumed and the bathroom window looked like it had many layers of paint making it look cheap. SPEND YOUR...
Read moreWe stayed in the Grand Highland Room for three nights and were pleasantly surprised at how cute and quaint it was! The staff was warm and friendly and accommodated for our gluten free needs during their Continental Breakfast, which had some excellent items available (hard boiled eggs, Greek Yogurt cups, Bagels, Juices, coffee, fruit). The room was clean and felt super comfy. The reasons I am only giving it four stars are below, but I bunched them together for one star lost as they weren't the biggest issues ever, and depends on the guest needs.
The bed was far too soft for me, so I didn't sleep well. It was cozy to hang out on, but just way too soft for good sleeping. If that's also an issue for you, you could probably ask them if they have a guest room with a firmer bed?
The curtain on the door window didn't quite cover the entire window, and because the hotel is run for 24 hours, the light was on constantly. That aspect also made it difficult to sleep well.
There was some happy hour music and laughter going on downstairs on the Saturday night, but the room has sound proof shutters, an excellent sound machine and they provide complementary ear plugs. Honestly, some noise is to be expected because you are in the front of the hotel and it's Saturday night. So that didn't bother us much. The staff provided wine glasses and an opener for us upon request.
All in all, it was a pleasant experience and we...
