So I love this place BUT there are some hangups. It's easier for me to list them out.
Their exterior menu board is often broken (missing full panels).
The menu (especially when you're not familiar with it) is confusing and difficult to understand at times. I find myself asking questions. What is the difference between a chiller, a refueler and a cream?!? How do I know which one i want.
They have a staff person at the exterior order board which is helpful - but also puts an extreme amount of pressure on me!!! She's waiting, the cars behind me are waiting AND I haven't learned what there is on the menu becasue of this. INSTEAD (Which is disappointing to me) I order what ever she TELLS me to order. I never get any better or any more knowledge able my order.
I'm sure there is a website out there that explains all this and you're right, I could go there and study it and spend an hour figuring out exactly what I want BUT this isn't a sit down dinner. You don't make plans to go to a drive thru just to get a drink. It's a spur of the moment decision. I go to home depot and SWIG is in the same parking lot. I may be thirsty - I may not be thirsty.
I'm really getting to the point where I have 3 options.
Option A - I just relinquish that I am always going to have the staff person make my order and I will drink things I don't like until I randomly find something I do like.
Option B - I take the downtime and literally spend an hour (or more) on the website and figure out what I would like in the future and write it down so that I can get it right when the pressure of ordering comes. Still randomly trying things I think I may like until I find one that I do.
Option C - just give up and realize that it's too hard, too much pressure and too many bad drinks to find the 1 or 2 that I might like. Just stop going to this place.
In summary, there menu is overwhelming. The fact that on ANY ONE of them you can customize them throws the possibilities into triple digits. I like this place, I really do. I would go more often if it were not for the insecurities I feel every time I pull up and there is a staff person there forced to wait for me to randomly order what I do not know will taste good.
They should have a once a month class that is 30 mins to an hour long that explains all the drink options and what they mean - OR better yet a brochure that explains them. A "how-to" guide. Or a "if you like this - you'll love this one on the menu" Something that teaches you in more than the 90 seconds I feel I have for the Staff person but less than the hour(s) on the website to learn what they have and what...
Read moreI feel like with such a niche business you have to be spot on. I’ve been here 10+ times so I feel like I have the experience needed for the review. I’ve also been to other locations and frequented Utah swigs 10+ times. This location is just meh. They have to figure out something with their drive thru. Multiple times I’ve been left sitting there waiting for someone to come out sometimes for 4-5 mins. I end up pulling up to the window, no apologies they just take my order like that’s what I was supposed to do? But other times they come out to take your order. No consistency there. -almost everytime I’m handed my drink it’s wet on the sides or sticky. If I’m a soda shop owner I’m going to really nail down those small details. No one wants a wet cup to put in their clean car. -I would consider myself a Diet Coke expert. The absolute worst Diet Coke I’ve ever tasted. I have no idea what they do to make it so bad. I’ve tried it multiple times and end up throwing it away. Then go drive thru chick fil a to get one instead. Again, if I’m a soda shop owner shouldn’t I have the best tasting soda for such a niche business? I will say this is a swig thing. I’ve been to other swigs and same thing. Just gross Diet Coke. I would rather hit up a gas station or canned Diet Coke. Good thing they have syrups to cover up the issue with flavor I guess. -they also need to figure out their inventory issues. Today I went, out of 3 different things I ask for. Then the employee says ya sorry we are out of everything. -something about their employees. They just don’t seem that professional or friendly. More just there for the paycheck and don’t really...
Read moreI’ve given this place several opportunities but each time I’ve visited the staff is rude and after today I probably just stick with other places to order a drink. I visited on their $1 cookie day, my sister and I ordered 1 of the birthday cake minis and 1 chocolate chip minis.i specifically said I wanted the minis… Drove up to the window and was handed the wrong cookie so I corrected the lady helping. Then someone else approached the window and was told they only have 2 left and sold to cars behind me and I wasn’t rung up for the right ones… the girl who took my order came up and said that’s not what I ordered and I said “no I think there was a misunderstanding because that’s not ..” before I could finish she walked off and started telling someone else to just refund me… I told the lady who informed me I wouldn’t be getting the cookies I ordered that it wasn’t my fault she misunderstood so I don’t understand how if I am ahead of people that I don’t get what I ordered… again was met with more rudeness. They don’t offer a receipt so how was I supposed to know I was rung up wrong when arrived at the window? There is no good customer service that I’ve encountered with any of the employees there so far.. disappointing and may just give up and take my...
