The girl at the register was very kind and friendly, However. the cook which a I believe is the owner was one of the meanest angriest rudest creature you will ever meet. The entire time we were there he was mumbling under his breath cursing offensive words in his home language directed at the girl and every customer that came in and out of that diner. . He has the most foul mouth the nice girl kept asking him to stop as she suspected we spoke the language. Many times we were tempted to just leave but didn’t all because we felt bad for the nice girl who did her best to try and stay calm. As far as the food, it was less than average, the tabbouleh was fresh however had no dressing at all just a bunch of cut parsley. Not sure if the owner forgot to add the dressing while being angry at the world. We wanted out so fast I didn’t care to ask. We definitely...
Read moreWhenever I'm in a new city, I try to look for Middle Eastern food , so when we were in Rhode Island, I did the same, so I found this restaurant The Shawarma was delicious, and let me tell you, the portion size was huge. Overall the person who took our order was very friendly and sweet. ...

You expect restaurants to serve good food most of the times but Al-Shami delivers the absolute best food all of the times. How they consistently offer the best chicken, lamb and falafel plates still baffles me, and this is after being a regular for more than 6 months now. I usually get their shawarma plates with salad and garlic sauce on the side. The garlic sauce is so unique and flavorful that I have offered an arm and a leg in exchange for the recipe. We often get our group events catered by them only to have our collective minds blown away by the flavors and variety of dishes. Even the leftovers from lunches catered by them go faster than anything else we have gotten catered from...
