The coffee was great, if not a little expensive but I'm not surprised since it's located on Wayland Square. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. The Health Inspector was there during our visit, which caused a conflict between the employees and the man that seemed like the owner. If they had just been yelling at the Health Inspector, I would understand, but they were yelling at one employee that the temperatures of the sandwiches in the case was her fault. After the Health Inspector left, the employee that seemed like the owner yelled loud enough for everyone to hear in the cafe, at this employee, that she was ruining peoples' lives. I don't care what she did, but that's not the way you talk to your employees even if you're not in front of a crowd of your customers. It's a shame since the majority of the employees are POC...
Read moreIt's difficult to write this review but it's been a consistent issue. The staff is always courteous and the atmosphere is nice.
The issue: I usually order a savory Danish and get it heated (eating there, not to go). This was the fourth time in a row (regarding both locations) that the "heated" Danish was COLD, yet burnt. They put it on a panini press, it seems. This probably doesn't heat the inside and burns the outside. Please use another form of heating your bakery products because these experiences make your place of business look medicore and not appealing to local people. These danishes are not made to order, I understand. That mostly means I can get them somewhere else, even if it's out of my way. I hope this habit is changed and that you're able to improve on...

The coffee for what is essentially a bakery is also good (RI is notorious for great bakeries with coffee that makes you retch.) But I had the orange cranberry muffin - and in it I found two slices of actual orange - with the rind! Is that necessary? I mean - blueberries - yes. Cranberries - yes. But orange rinds? And even if you are going to add them in, at least use oranges without seeds! I thought a piece of my tooth chipped off! Look, I can understand in an effort to be unique and different (especially on the east side of providence where toast can be a sensation if you just call it "Le'Toast") you try to make your menu special - but I think orange rinds and seeds in a muffin...
