I have been going to this establishment for 6 years, but for the last three I have experienced some extremely bad customer service. I have had to wait over an hour for pizzas that I called in and ordered that were ready when I arrived, only to be refused my order and told to wait. Once the rush had cleared, my pizzas, that I watched sit on the cutting counter the entire time and even pointed out to the cashiers, were attempted to be sold to me, cold and disgusting. No apologies, no discounts, no offer to make a new order. I have dealt with wrong orders, extremely horrible customer service, and nasty food. The reason I deal with this is because the store is convenient to my house. I used to order pizza from this store on a consistent basis, but have lessened over the past few years because of the service. Last night was the final time I will visit this store. I called in and placed a speciality order that I often do. I asked the price over the phone, which was $15.43. When I arrived it took the cashier several minutes to find my pizza, which was wrong, and had appeared to be sitting on the counter, not in the warmers. I told the cashier that it was not my order, mine should have been a square pizza. She insisted that it was, that is how they make the pizza, so I decided to go ahead and pay thinking they must have changed how they did deep dish. She then charged me around $13 for the pizza. I realized this was wrong because of the price difference. She then told me that they don't do the pizza I was requesting, though the person that took the order over the phone stated they did and quoted me the other price, and she had insisted that this pizza was what I ordered. I decided to just pay and go and not argue, attempting to use gift cards I had. At this point the gift cards were not working in the machine. She looked so confused and barely talked to us about this, as we stood there wondering what was going on. She went and asked for help twice from a manager, that did not come help her. After about 15 minutes of this, she told us we couldn't use our cards. That made no sense to me. So I am just out the gift cards? There is only one way to use them? I was very irritated, so I left and went to the other local store, because complaining at this store gets you no where. The other store had amazing customer service from the moment I walked into the door, placed my order correctly, used my gift cards even though they did not work again, and the food was excellent. I may have to travel further to get quality, but it will be worth it after the ridiculous service I have experienced here. Oh! By the way, the cashier at the other store wasn't sure how to accept our gift cards that didn't work in the machine, but he asked and someone came and helped him! It was so nice to see team...
Read moreThis store gets bottlenecked on the landing station. This is the worst place to be bottlenecked because the pizza doesn't get into the warmer and just gets stacked on the landing station making it cold quickly. As someone who has had a lot of experience on the landing station in other stores, I have developed a protocol to take care of this issue.
If your lander is landing pizzas back to back for 5+ minutes, have a second person that tags the pizza and organizes them. A single lander can not be expected to somehow cut, box, put a tag on, and send the pizza where it needs to go when there are is a lot of pizzas stacked in the oven. Don't think they can! (Also, dont have this person be from the register if you're busy. They should be from the back and be expected to help landing until the oven is not stacked.)
If you have too many boxed and ready pizzas stacked up, stop throwing pizzas in the oven until the stack is taken care of. By continuing to throw pizzas in when there is still a tower, the pizzas near the bottom will never be taken out. When they do get taken out, they will be cold and old. (This likely happened to my pizza today)
Make sure communication between prep and landing is always clear. Let them know when they are going to get busy. Have them use codewords when they are stacked with too many pizzas and other reasons. (.I am particular to the phrase "I'm swimming" when I have too many pizzas that are stacked on the landing table.)
You don't have to follow my recommendations, but by doing nothing to fix it, you should expect the bottleneck to never get fixed, and the way it is now is...
Read moreGood, but they need to re-train a manager. My husband and I come here frequently. We always get good taste and good quality, except for today. It was awful. At around 5pm, I got a Hot-n-Ready Pepperoni pizza and some breadsticks. To my dismay, when I got home, the pizza was oval shaped, a lot of sauce was showing, and the crust was jagged and...crusty. It was bad.
Now, I realize it's $5. I realize crazy people want a refund for $5, but this was just extremely lazy. We know because we both worked at a more expensive pizza chain for a long time.
Anyway, we got there around 5:05 or something to ask for a refund (a different pizza would've been nice, but we couldn't wait). The nice girls at the front fetched the manager, who basically ignored us other than to ask what was wrong with it.
That was irritating. Look at it! The pizza was absolutely indefensible and, instead of apologizing, he asked what was wrong with it? I didn't ask for a fake apology, I don't need one and it was apparent he didn't care, but don't be condescending. We were being nice. Unless our answer would've changed whether or not we would be able to get a refund, there is no point asking. And, after we gave our answer, he didn't respond anyway.
That guy was a terrible manager. The girls apologized and were kind. Don't see why they're not managers instead...
