MOZZ Sourdough Pizza — Restaurant in Provo

Quite literally the worst customer experience Ive ever had.

My mom suggested Mozz for my bday dinner. I love pizza and it had good reviews, so I was in. We ordered 2 pizzas and a cheesey bread. One pizza came out in a reasonable amount of time. 15-20 min later, we still only had one pizza.

I politely asked an employee to check on the rest of the order and she said she would. Great! 10 min later, a table who got there after us got a cheesey bread and a couple of pizzas all at once. I went back up with my mom hoping for an update and it was clear this employee had never checked on the order. She immediately went on the defensive. I calmly said, “listen, I’m super hungry and this is my birthday dinner and this experience is kinda ruining my night.” (I promise I did not raise my voice or add any swear words to that statement. I just wanted her to actually do something about it.) This employee started yelling at ME saying there was nothing she could do because they’re busy and all these people ordered before us (not true), and I had no right to speak to her that way. What way?! I’m not exaggerating, she full on yelled at me and caused a scene over this. It was so unhinged, I’m in shock hours later.

The supervisor(?) came over when he heard her screaming. He took her side and wouldn’t let me or my mom talk to explain what was happening. He kept saying she was a good employee. Have I died and gone to hell for my birthday? What is happening??

I left at that point, my parents waited for a refund since no one could tell them when to expect the rest of the food… another 15 minutes later, the supervisor was like “I can just put a pizza in for you right now” because he couldn’t figure out how to do the refund. My guy, WHY DIDNT YOU JUST MAKE OUR ORDER WHEN WE FIRST ASKED ABOUT IT?? How did it take you that long to say you didn’t know how to do a refund?? Hahahahaha.

The pizza we DID initially get was kinda burnt. It was also not sliced well and we had to try to cut it with a butterknife. It’s almost comical. The only good thing about this place is that the oven is cool looking. And the bathroom was...

The food is good but not worth the price for what you get. If you want a pizza and a salad to share its $25 a person. $15 for a sandwhich. Does not make sense. If you want a good italian sandwhich worth the $11 you pay for it go to Caputos in SLC. I have been to many other fire wood pizza joints in Dallas area and other states that also use “organic” and “locally sourced” ingredients. It does not explain why Mozz chooses to charge $17 for a personal size pizza. My favorite pizza place is cadillac pizza in mckinney texas. They also offer locally sourced ingredients but their value is much better in comparison. In response to the owner just a couple of years ago the prices were much cheaper at your establishment and I have a hard time believing costs have gone up that much to justify the hike. If they have and it seems you like trying to be transparent can you share your profit margins from the year you increased prices to now? There should not be a difference if it really is all about increased cost of the ingredients you are sourcing. Regardless I have been to many pizza places and the taste of the pizza to me does not justify using as you mentioned such costly processes and ingredients. To me you dont at all seemed concerned with the consumer their spending power and the overall state of the economy. To me it seems like you are like every other business that claims to use “organic” “locally sourced” ingredients knowing you can charge an arm and a leg because people see the word “organic” and psychologically automatically think it will taste better and will pay more. I guess when the recession comes and consumers have less buying power they will actually be faced with considering if “organic” and “locally sourced” actually equates to a better taste that...
