Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Pueblo

Some waitress named Shelby is rude as f* I found a piece of s* in my salad like it was literally an old tarnished plastic lid that had a sticker that read "Use By WED" and it was already Sunday but since my mom ordered the salad as a side to her main meal (mind you I was the one who ate the salad, come on y'all can't tell me you don't still eat it all off your mama's plate) anyway the waitress comes back I show her what I found in the salad that I had just ate (keep in mind that this stupid waitress knows I'm the one who ate the salad as I am the one telling her how I ATE the salad and how I found this piece of s* out dated plastic lid in there)this waitress Shelby has the nerve to look at my mom and ask "Would you like another salad?" my mom looks at me for an answer and I look at the waitress wondering why she's not asking me this question but I decided to answer anyway by saying "That was so disgusting, The last thing I want to see right now is another salad" and this is where Shelby thinks she's smart being rude as f* as she glances at me look back at my mom and repeat the question to my mom asking my mom would you like another salad. Doesn't apologize for the disgusting crap found in the food nor does she decide to acknowledge me to refill my drinks throughout the entire hour that we ate there, shell so screwed up my brother is order he ordered two sides of mashed potatoes with his steak she still comes back with vegetables on mashed potatoes instead of two sides of mashed potatoes. So my brother let her know she decides to take responsibility for that one and say oh that's my fault I'm sorry however she brings back a COLD side of mashed potatoes. During all this commotion we get a random waitress trying to give us a side of french fries that we didn't even order so this leads me to believe that there is a customer out there missing their French fries! My other brother and I had ordered ribs which as you know people eat with their fingers and with ribs you usually get a tiny wet paper towel to clean your hands after eating the ribs, you guessed it, our waitress did not provide those either. And to top it off when it comes time for our waitress to give us our receipt with a total amount what we owe she says and here is your ticket and just remember if I don't make it back anytime soon you can go ahead and pay with this and pointed to their mini electronic computer that they have at every table. All this statement told me was "I'm not trying to make it back anytime soon to collect your payment because I don't feel like dealing with you so here's a heads up why don't you just pay that little machine and be on your way" rude rude rude mixed with disgusting trash in your food topped with here is some leftover cold mashed potatoes on the side since I forgot them in the first place. No sympathy or regard for Customer Service. I wonder what the Health Department will...

It sure seems like this restaurant is a complete mess these days (and it's very !!! rare that I write a less than positive review on ANY thing I review). I've gone to this restaurant off and on since the day they opened their doors and would have rated it 4 stars minimum each time until this last month (when I've found myself eating there 3 times). My first visit this month, a rather tall, large and obvious lacking in ANY MGT skills (in my opinion) who I later found out was a manager comes out to the (employee) register literally screaming at "his" employees to "get out there and SELL SOME FOOD or some of you won't have a job this week end"! I was at lunch time, it was quite busy and having been seated there for 10-15 minutes, I'd already had the chance to notice that all employees that I could see were working very hard, some of them literally running at times and all appeared anyway to be working at maximum pace, most still seemed to have a smile on their faces at least when interacting with customers (any customer I noticed again seemed to be enjoying their meals and doing "just fine" until of course we all were subjected to this mgrs outburst and then about 1/3 of the dining room was looking at him apparently having heard his tantrum/employ abuse. The second time, an (apparently) disgruntled employees (the bartender identified him to the customers in her area as "just a dishwasher" who was unhappy. No kidding! This young man complete with Applebee's hat and tee-shirt hadvwakjed thru the dining area announcing that "Applebee's has roaches" which seemed to upset at least a couple of diners who wanted to know if the restaurant did in fact have bugs. The food here is typically good I think esp for a fast food chain restaurant, the employees typically I think are at the very least above average and the "dining experience here" is generally pretty predictable in a positive way. But there does seem to be at present a real management problem if the mgr on duty is suffering so much from whatever stressor he surely must have in his life that his "intervention" for what...Applebee's not selling enough food (?) that he feels comfortable verbally abusing (very loud abusive voice, yelling and openly threatening his employees with termination AND ALL done within EASY hearing range of customers during lunch hour rush then I seriously question his ability to MANAGE much...

My daughter and I went for lunch today and when we walked in there was a table and we were told they had to clean the table so they asked us to stand outside while they cleaned it even though there was no one else waiting and of course we were wearing masks. So, okay, if that's their procedure then that's fine. The hostess came and got us and directed us to our table. We waited quite a bit before the waitress came around for our drink order. We understand that it might take a bit longer due to the circumstances. She finally came, took our drink order, brought out drinks and then took our order. My daughter had the oriental chicken salad and I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs (I wanted the riblet plate but with mashed potatoes instead of fries because most of the time fries don't settle with me so when I asked to substitute, I was told NO, not even if I paid extra). Our meals were part of the 2 for $22 so an appetizer was included, so we ordered and received mozzarella sticks. We waited an hour for our main entrees and didn't receive them before we decided to leave. Our waitress never once checked on our food, didn't come by to provide us with updates on our order...nothing. The sad part is that the restaurant was only at 25% capacity at most and plenty of staff working. If they were short handed in the kitchen then the waitress could have at least let us know that it might take a little longer for our food but she never did. We left $5 for what we had and left without getting our food. I'm a pretty patient person and give extra consideration during this time with Covid-19 however I think it was unprofessional for the waitress to be MIA for extended periods of time and to not let us know the status of our order.
