The men's department was full of items marked on sale, most racks of Van Heusens and Staffords were marked buy one get one free. The ties were marked as buy one get one 50% off. There was signs everywhere stating a "Black Friday in July" sales event was currently going on. Anticipating sales, my boyfriend went through and selected shirts and ties on sale and tried on $150 worth of items after sales price. We went to checkout, expecting a good deal after we estimated the prices of these items after sales. After a long wait in the checkout line the lady starts scanning the items and all these dress shirts and ties come out to full price. None of the sales were applicable and the register came out to full price for everything at $300, which would have been $150 with the sales. My boyfriend asks the price of the ties and none are really on sale, neither are the shirts. He says put back the ties I'll just buy the shirts. He ends up paying $210 after a 15% discount she gave him for just the shirts, which were supposed to be buy one get one FREE. There was hardly anybody on the floor to ask about deals or prices anyway and we spend 15 minutes at checkout trying to figure out what they really costed. The dressing rooms had no attendant so my boyfriend had no one to ask about pricing when he tried on the shirts either. There was barely anyone working the floor and there was just one lady at the checkout in the juniors department where we ended up buying the shirts. She took over 10 minutes per customer at checkout. So my boyfriend makes his purchase and pays full price for the shirts. I say to the clerk who checked them out for us, "Thanks for checking out the items and putting back the ties for us." And she says back to me, "Are you okay??" Which I was totally shocked so I just told her to have a good one and walked away. I thanked her and she asks me if I was okay? I was just standing there minding my own business and thanked her for putting the ties back after my boyfriend finished his purchase. I have no idea what she meant by that, this Jcpenney's really must improve their customer service. But they also should update their advertised prices and sales tags and have more associates on their sales floor if they want to keep people shopping there. I doubt I'd shop here again with how everything was handled and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis store had no AC in it this summer, and it created mold in some of their clothes! I purchased multiple pairs of women's and men's dress pants mid summer, and they ALL developed mold within months. Gross!! I then came back in October to buy some new ones (without mold), only to find that most of the pants on their rack had mold issues! I can't believe they're selling these clothes to the public!!! Many people in CO no doubt don't know the signs of mold on clothing, so they're unwittingly buying these damaged goods. However, I'm from FL... so, I know all to well what mold looks like on clothes, and even when it just starts to develop. The management should take better care of their store with proper temperature control. Leaving their customers, employees, and products with no AC all summer is very bad business! I won't be buying anything from this JCP location again.
One bright spot... the beauty micro store (used to be Sephora) within the JCP main store is nice. The STAFF are awesome!! Always so friendly and helpful! :) My mom and I had a fun time talking to one of the reps there who was really knowledgeable about the types of products she was looking to buy. I'll shop in there, but not the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am so discouraged with the lowlife JCP has hired. It's not even seasonal help. Just help.
When I worked there we had standards and were held accountable for every action.
Today our cashier had hoop earrings I kid you not they were so large that a pigeon could use to swing from her ear lobe. She "axed me, chu sure chu want dat? I mean its da same thing." I said yes it's a smaller size thank you. "K well you dot a paper right!? Excuse me what? A paper? Ya KNOW A PAPER WIT NUMBERS ON IT! Oh a receipt? No. It was a gift. Well somebody must have had seen you and thought Chica you hit the donuts cause man that's big!". Well, after asking her to please make the exchange same item just a different size she couldn't figure it out and wanted to charge me almost $88! I asked for management and I kid you not I had to ask the manager to please stop chomping her gum so I could understand her! What did she do? She said here b...
