visited Neilâs Coffee hoping it might offer the warm, inclusive atmosphere that independent cafĂ©s so often promise â especially for students like me who are on the autism spectrum and can find larger venues overwhelming. Sadly, my experience left me feeling subtly but unmistakably out of place.
Whether through staff demeanor or the social tone set by regulars, the cafĂ© felt less like a welcoming community space and more like an environment where difference â particularly neurodiversity â was quietly but palpably unwelcome. As someone with autism, this sense of being âotheredâ is deeply discouraging and can turn what should be a small comfort â a cup of coffee in peace â into a reminder of isolation.
I sincerely hope the owners and staff reflect on how even small gestures of warmth and inclusion can profoundly change the experience for neurodivergent customers, and work toward fostering a space where all patrons, regardless of neurological or social difference, feel genuinely valued.    Read moreWhen we first got in it was quite busy, not a problem, the problem was that one of workers (red head) made a drink for herself and called out and said "oop never mind..this one is mine"?? then the same worker proceeds to forget about an older lady and (prob) her granddaughter. she had to remind a different worker (brunette wearing pigtails) about their order. also, my mom ordered a banana split, which apparently doesn't count as a sundae so it doesn't count for the dollar off on sundays.. i mean its dollar not a big deal, but don't advertise it as such. lastly, they didn't even call out my moms banana split and, in fact, they put it on the other side of the counter even though they had been handing out all the goods where they were taking orders. tbh, i rlly just feel bad for the other worker who had to literally ask the red head worker "who have you helped" because of how disorganized it was. I wish Ferdinands was open...
Read moreI used to get coffee here every day as a Pullman local. I had to stop because of expenses. Today I came in to treat my boyfriend and I for our anniversary and I ordered him an Americano (it was great) and myself I ordered a Salted caramel mocha with 2 extra shots and extra sweet (i always get the same thing) however, it wasnt sweet at all, no mocha at all, and I couldn't taste any of the espresso. It was just a cup of warm milk at that point. Im really disappointed because when I used to come here they would make my coffee perfect every single time. I paid about 11 bucks for a cup of milk. I changed my review because the owner refunded me and apologized for the bad experience. I appreciated that and will give Neil's...
