History Park of Punta Gorda - Sunday Market — Attraction in Punta Gorda

I was very pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the park with all the tropical foliage. As a Master Gardener I was in total bliss and vaulted further into complete ecstasy when I toured the community garden! I gasped in awe and my mouth dropped open at the splendor of all the different ways people had worked out to fit a lot of vegetables in a small space.

I talked to some nice people and was so impressed by the area that I plan to move there as soon as possible.

I couldn’t be more happy with this area near the beach and beautiful city and pleasant people in a quality atmosphere.

Well ... what can I say. There was a time that we looked forward to visiting the Sunday Farmer's Market. But not this year.

About one third of the vendors aren't there now. There are still only 2 produce vendors and their selections can be sketchy. We bought what we considered the best tomatos there 10 days ago, paid 6 bucks for 4, and they are still not ripe. 3 for 2 bucks zucchini isn't necessarily a good deal either.

And worst of all ... the face mask situation. About half of the vendors and half of the patrons were maskless.

Excellent, well-maintained park that showcases some of the historic homes built in the area. Literally moving these classic homes is a creative way of preserving part of the city's history, and history lovers and outdoor enthusiasts will love it. It's location helps keep the experience very relaxing, peaceful, and quiet. Definitely recommend to anyone trying to learn more about Punta Gorda's history and looking to enjoy...
