Oh my! I did want to like this place. Hereās the deal, if youāre a real, true New Yorker....I mean if you really KNOW good pizza and REAL Italian food and you grew up or lived anywhere in the 5 boroughs or Long Island you would know this is not even remotely anything that resembles true Italian food. In fact, itās an absolute insult and disgrace to real Italian food! Ugh!
To start, the young girl behind the counter has to go! Sheās cute but if you want to keep customers having her there is not the way to do it. I ordered pizza by the slice (which is still a joke because real authentic pizza places will have āspecialty piesā abailable throughout the day, and this doesnāt have that. I ordered one cheese slice and one slice with ricotta topping a slice broccoli. I was craving ābroccoli pizza.ā I also ordered baked ziti with 2 meatballs.
I paid for my order and left and good thing I opened the box on my way home, as I realized they gave me pepperoni instead of broccoli. I go back and they fix it and tell me to keep the other two slices, ok thanks! Well, the guy shows me the fixed slice and I look and itās clearly frozen broccoli which immediately turns me off, yes he heated it but it was frozen gross looking broccoli with random gons of ricotta which didnāt look appetizing and also didnāt cover the entire slice. Pathetic!
I was afraid to even open the ziti. I do and I immediately see penne pasta! š¤š³ I didnāt ask for baked penne and i asked for baked ZITI! There is a difference. Also thereās supposed to be like a massive thick layer of mozerella cheese on top of baked ziti so thatās all perfectly golden brown and so you canāt see the pasta at all until you cut into it and scoop it out, but this had just a sprinkle of cheese and hardly any sauce and the pasta honestly tasted gross and wasnāt made well. It was hard and rubbery at the same time. This also has almost no taste. Baked ziti has a delicious, unique flavor to it and this is so not even remotely baked ziti at all! HUGE DISAPPONTMENT!
Also, the pizza sucks! It is absolutely better than dominos or little ceasars, but thatās it!
Also, they gave me bread with the pasta and usually itās a nice crispy piece of French bread or a half of a roll of French bread, depending on how generous the place is, and this was two pieces of microwaved, chewy, rubbery bread. Terrible!!! My heart goes out to all of you who have never experienced true Italian food as youāll never know how much beautiful flavor and what a wonderful experience it can be and places like this totally do it a disservice. If I was in this biz I would be so insulted places like this exist.
I will eat it because I paid $25 for it. Got the pasta for $9.99, but itās usially $12.50. I am appalled that this place would charge that much for garbage. Extremely sad and disappointed!!! Good luck!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTheir service has gone down significantly in the last few months. Weāve loved eating here for years. But the last few times have been horrible service. A month ago we went in as a family of 7 and the waitress forgot to bring our appetizers. Brought out the food first. Then tried to charge us for them. I knew mistakes happen and we got it fixed. Yesterday I called in an order to pick up from getting my sonās head stitched up. Planed it so I would just pick it up on my way home since he was with me. We got there 45 minutes after calling in my order and the girl up front had no recollection of my order being taken. She was rude and kept questioning me if it was THAT location. I assured her it was multiple times. After the owner/manager came up front she said she remembered talking to me on the phone and didnāt know what had happened to my order, but that it wasnāt ready or even started. She at least apologized and was nice. The other girl continued to be rude and re take my order. I then had to wait 20 minutes while it was being made. While my kids and my son (in pain) were waiting in the car. I get that mistakes happen but itās the fact that the girl up front was not friendly at all when it was THEIR mistake. To top it off as she checked me out she didnāt even give me a discount on our $65 order. They could have given us a complimentary dessert or an appetizer to hold us over while we waited, a discount would have even helped, but they did none of that to rectify the situation. And acted like it was my fault the entire time. We wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI made a online order Friday December 23rd which would have been ready at 9:50pm. I showed up at 10:10pm thinking Brooklyn V's was open until 11-12pm. Which was my fault for assuming they would have the same hours as their competitors. Needless to say they were closed and I saw a gentlemen who works there carrying what I am also assuming my order. Which is fine because wasting food is a issue too, however, I was a bit upset at myself but figured my husband and I would get it taken cared of the next day. He called to tell the manager the story and she said unfortunately she was not able to refund us. He tried suggesting if she could at least re-make the order and she said yes but she would have to charge. He told her you guys already did charge me but we did not receive our order. She then tells him he has to get in contact with the online ordering company. He told her we ordered it from their website which apparently they use a third party company. Farebites does not have any information about how we can contact them and get our refund. Needless to say we are now short $52.42 I am a little upset because as we all know times are tough and the fact that the manager would not even try to help us baffles me. So beware to those who order online and beware of the hours. AND you will not receive help from this establishment. If they are not open and willing to help their customers then I refuse to order ever again. I will take my business else where with a easier online ordering system and better...
