I want to start this review by saying that I'm usually a fan of Cane's. Their food and service are always consistent, but, today's visit was pretty disappointing.
My fiance ordered 6 box combos for carry-out. Our food was prepared quickly and ready to go when we arrived. However, none of our drinks (6 total) were filled and they were stacked up in a single drink carrier. As most of you know, these cup holders only hold 4 cups. While I was looking down at this tangible miscalculation, the nice young lady behind the counter saw the confused look on my face and said, "I'm sorry, it looks like no one filled your cups." I love when non-verbal communication works! I then nodded my head, "thank you." She took the receipt that showed the ordered drink types on it, the empty cups, and headed toward the soda machine located by the drive-thru window. She then spoke to someone, turned around, handed me back the empty cups and said, "I forgot, we don't fill the cups on carry-out orders." Huh?! I don't know what was more shocking, the fact that this could be a policy, or that she handed the empty cups back to me. I mean, you were just standing next to the soda fountain with my empty cups in your hand. I guess rules are rules. She did a great job of following them. If this is really a policy, I don't like it. Lol! Here's the problem:
My fiance ordered the meals at home while I was out, so I had no idea what drinks she ordered. Ok, one was for me, so 5 were still a mystery. Just look at the receipt you say? I've had an easier time in Thailand trying to read a street food menu. Lol! I'm kidding. I've never been to Thailand, but this is a good segue the next reason why they should just be filled by the employees.
Since I had a hard time reading the abbreviations for the soda brands that were apparently written by Wall-E on the receipt, I was holding up the line. It takes more than a few minutes to read the hieroglyphics, fill the cup with ice and the decrypted beverage, attach a lid, and then get it in the carrier x 6. I did ask for a second carrier.
This whole situation made me feel awkward and "in the way" of the folks that were waiting to get their drinks.
When I got home with the food, I was feeling happy to eat, and excited that I learned a new language. I unloaded the haul and my fiance handed out the boxes to the rest of the family. I grabbed mine and sat at the table to have a delicious dinner. Unfortunately, the look on my face when looking inside of my Cane's box was the exact same face as when I saw that I had 6 drinks and only 1 drink carrier at the restaurant. It's a similar feeling to realizing that there's more hot dogs in a pack than there are hot dog buns in a pack. I realize that Cane's calls these chicken "fingers," but I've never been served ones that were the same size as actual chicken fingers. The picture I attached doesn't do it justice. You can see in the image that the French fries are bigger than the "fingers." The biggest one was maybe 2.5 inches. This was consistent with all of the boxes. They were tiny. At least they counted them right and only put 4 in the box! SMH... At this point, I hoped that the fries would make up for the lack of sustenance. Well, they were not good... AT ALL! They were so dry that they sucked every drop of moisture out of my head. There was no amount of salt that could fix this. The texture of the fries were similar to an imitation crab stick, wrapped in tofu, and then made in to a tamale. Yuck!
I hope that the shrinking of the chicken isn't a cost issue where this will be the norm. If it's not, then it may just be this location. Either way, this is not what I expected to get out of a $70+ meal.
Cane's, do better. Just fill the cups when the customer arrives at the counter. It's the right thing to do. Or, get a second soda fountain. Also, if you're going to sell the small pieces of chicken at normal price, throw a few extra in there. Make it a benefit instead of the heel...
Read moreWow such attitude from 2 different females in the drive through. The way you make people feel trumps however good the food is. When you make people feel bad they are less likely to come back.
I was ordering and they asked what we wanted to drink and I said hold on let me ask… I was asking my son what he wanted and the lady got irritated (he tone of voice changed) and asked cuz what I wanted to drink again while I was asking my son and I repeated myself that “I said I needed to ask my kid, hold on.” I say Hi C. Then it gets quiet and apparently she passed me to the other chic in the drive thru … who already has an attitude… you can tell by the tone of voice. She repeats our order and AGAIN asked what we wanted to drink … I said “I said hi c” then I said “I think something is wrong with the speaker cuz I’m talking but you guys aren’t hearing me and she said “umm I don’t think so“ in the most condescending rudest tone!!! If you hate your job why do it? To make people feel unwelcome and stupid?! I said oh great attitude and I told my son to look to make sure they don’t do something to his food!
I mentioned to the girl up front that I think something’s was wrong with the speaker cuz I was talking and they weren’t hearing me and they got an attitude… they got mad at me. And she said sometimes the headsets are glitchy .. sorry.
I just want to reiterate that it’s not what you say it’s how you say it and YOU are doing customer service. You are supposed to be friendly and polite not rude little people that want to make their customers feel bad. On that note - I doubt I’ll be coming back. There are other canes in the area where they aren’t rude and...
Read moreI am writing to formally report a food safety concern regarding Raising Cane's located at 5129 S Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212. During my recent visit on 02/28/25 at 7pm, I was served hot food in a non-BPA-approved container that was not designed to withstand high temperatures.
Due to the heat of the food, the container began to melt, causing potential contamination and posing a serious health risk. I am concerned that these containers may release harmful chemicals when exposed to heat, endangering consumer safety. Additionally, the weakened structure of the container resulted in leakage and difficulty handling the food properly. Screenshot attached for your reference.
As food safety regulations require approved, food-grade containers for serving hot food, I kindly request an investigation into whether the restaurant is complying with local and federal guidelines. Ensuring safe packaging practices is essential for public health, and I believe this matter deserves immediate attention.
Please let me know the next steps regarding this complaint. I would appreciate an update on any actions taken. Thank you for your time and attention to this important...
