This place has be a silent and secret staple the entire time I have worked downtown. The bartenders are judgy and sarcastic, the patrons, quite the same. It is a place where if you don't feel welcome, you need to do an introspection as to why. Use to visit Evelyn’s quite frequently in the past. My friend who was visiting from overseas wanted to get a semi local beer downtown Racine. So we ordered a Spotted Cow and a Riverwest Stein and it was very sour, dirty and the lines have not been cleaned. She has bartended in the past.
