Most recent update for Washington Avenue store May 27, 2023. Ordered online a drive-thru order, a signature 8 piece spicy chicken, a side of biscuits, and a large cole slaw. No one answered at the order microphone. Pulled around to window told them my order was #52. They said they didn't have it on the computer. They did find my order and nd brought our order out to the car. The order was all correct. Freshly made. Oh my God, it was heavenly, hot, juicey. Hope they can keep up service and quality. Will be back again. 5 āāāāā star with this experience
This is an update for both Washington Ave and Durand stores.
If I could give a zero rating, I would. I love Popeye's food, but everything about local restaurants on Durand and Washington just SUCK. Run out of food, staff just quitting while on shift, online systems down so you get no food and no refund in store, because they REALLY don't have your order. You only get a refund by contacting corporate. Store doesn't tell you how. It's just sorry. Had to go online three times for three transactions that weren't fillable or received. Three strikes... we're done for the near future. Corporate is great gives refund but locally they can't get themselves together. Supported this local franchise (Washington Avenue location) since they came to town over 20 years, but I have given up. SAD, losing customers and goodwill, let alone money.

Walked in store about 1pm. There was a long line of people waiting for their orders but also a line to order. Evident they were busy in drive-thru and in store. Still, they needed more staff during lunch hour. My cashier was greeted by me and was polite and efficient. Loved her work ethic and efficiency. This was in spite of her many difficult requests. Such as boxing items separate because of allergies. Individuals before me didn't understand the different meals despite being well explained on the menu board. She was patient and helpful. I'm disappointed they discontinued some sides such as green beans and corn on cob. I ordered the new chicken sandwich as a combo...spicy. OMG, it was sooo good. Big juicy crunchy with a bit of mayo and pickles. Beautiful bun soft but still firm. Definite problem when the manager(?) Person with the headset was asked by cashier if the store had prepared Cole Slaw or other sides ready & available? She the manager(?) Had no idea. She was too busy on her phone and socializing. Iāve had numerous unpleasant experiences at this Popeyes location, both as a customer and a delivery driver. The staff here are consistently rude and unwelcoming, which has made every visit frustrating and disappointing.
One staff member, a lady with long braided hair, is always on her phone, either talking to a colleague or ignoring customers. Iāve asked about the status of my order several times during different visits, only to be told to wait 10 minutes. When I returned, the order was still not ready, and she seemed to completely disregard me when I asked again.
Another night, I went through the drive-thru to pick up an order, and the staff were outside talking. They obviously saw me pulling up to the drive-thru, but no one assisted me. I waited for more than 15 minutes, and when I finally pulled around to the window, I saw they were fully staffed. Itās baffling why they couldnāt take the time to assist in the drive-thru.
Another time, I went through the drive-thru when there were no other cars. The store was still open, but I waited for 20 minutes with no response. I finally decided to pull around the parking lot to see if anyone was inside. I saw another car in the drive-thru being assisted, which only added to my frustration.
Today, I encountered a new guy wearing hip-hop style pants who was incredibly rude when I asked how much longer Iād have to wait for my order. He replied with a sarcastic attitude, which only made the experience worse. The store was so loud it felt like a disco rather than a place to grab a meal.
The owner of this store really needs to do a surprise visit to see the kind of staff they have. The store isnāt even clean, and itās clear that the employees here donāt enjoy their jobs. This is reflected in their poor work ethics and the way they treat customers.
I hope the management takes this seriously because the service here is...
Ā Ā Ā Read morewent here last night for the first time, im from milwaukee and drove out of my way to go to a popeyes business that had better reviews than the other ones in the area. i got there about 1 and a half- 2 hours before close. I ordered a couple things and was told to pull around to the front of the store. I saw they were ābusyā, was trying to he mindful of it but I was waiting out there for probably 30 minutes, mind you the inside was closed. A few people in the drive thru. When i got my food finally i was given the worst tasting chicken ive genuinely ever had, even the fries were nasty. Missing a sandwich, the side I ordered and sauce I also did not order (how do you run out of normal ranch lol). I was not communicated with about the lack of items they were āonly ableā to give me and thats really frustrating given I was patient and probably too nice about it. You should communicate to your customers instead of giving them random things that they didnt want or pay for. im glad i checked my order, the outside of the restaurant was extremely nasty- dirty windows, trash on the ground.. Hoping to get a refund after contacting popeyes but genuinely doubt it. I wouldnāt recommend coming here I dont know how any of the reviews were good. Also- the hours online are not accurate.
