Beware of their custom painted bikes! If issues arise, you will be on your own, and I'm not the only reviewer stating this. The clear coat lifted off the pinstripe on my 2016 Chieftain and I couldn't even get a phone call back from Mark Porcaro (or his staff) about the PPG number for the stripe color. I had to track the painter down myself to get the information I needed. Now I'll have to fix it out of my own pocket because the extended warranty I purchased with the bike doesn't cover the custom paint job! 😲 It's a beautiful dealership with a seemingly friendly staff and that's where it ends. No customer service when it's REALLY needed. Once they have your money, they're done with you. I should have known there were going to be problems when they failed to give me an odometer statement at the time of purchase causing me delays and extra trips to the BMV. ☹️ I have purchased many bikes from dealers in nearly 30 years of riding, and this by far has been the most unpleasant dealer experience to date!
Update:
Two thumbs up to my bikes original painter, Jeff at T.S. Customs! He offered to repair my paint problem under warranty. He also confirmed that the touch-up paint I was sent by Indian of Racine is the wrong PPG number!!! (PPG 3051 not 4088) At the time of purchase, it was agreed that they would ship me touch-up paint for my bikes base colors (root beer and cream). It took them, with me calling every 3 to 5 weeks, almost 6 months to ship me the wrong color cream!!!😲😲😲 This review has just been down graded...
Read moreI decided to visit Indian of Racine last summer after seeing their Facebook site showing the awesome looking venue with attached bar and restaurant, so thought it might make a great destination ride. Sad to report that I disliked it and won't be going back. To their credit, the dealership itself was nice and the staff was friendly, but that was the only thing positive about my experience. I went there on a day when they were hosting an event with free food, beer, and a live band in their parking lot. The first thing that struck me was the obvious presence of several local "Motorcycle Clubs"/gangs (not your typical friendly riding groups) wearing their territorial colors on premises in the parking lot and in the restaurant/indoor bar. It felt like a MC recruitment event. That's fine if that's what you're expecting, but not cool if you're expecting a "color-free" and family-friendly dealership. The best dealerships and riding destinations I visit don't allow colors to be worn on premises. The other thing that stood out for me was that the dealership is on the border of the Racine ghetto with gang bangers loitering at nearly every street corner. I accidentally strayed a block or two off the main road to the dealership and ended up in the adjoining neighborhood. The area was so sketchy/ghetto that I starting blowing through the stop signs because stopping felt unsafe. This dealership has potential, but I won't be going back. Location, location, location, and put up a "No Colors Allowed" sign at the...
Read moreNothing but great experiences here. Two years ago, my son bought a bike in late Dec. and picked it up in the spring. Very low mileage, in great condition, and the original owner had purchased it here, so they knew the bike's history.
My son had an issue less than a mile away, so we turned back. They diagnosed it as a bad battery, replaced it, and we were on our way. About a week later, he had a "check engine light" come on. I forget what it was, but they took care of it, no questions asked.
Later that summer, after the used motorcycle "warranty period" was up (as I recall they had a 30 day/500 mile return policy), he had an issue in South Dakota. He called the dealership and Andy said bring it in as soon as we get back in town. They once again made it right - even though they had every right to say, "Sorry, you've been riding it all summer. You're past the coverage period".
It has been trouble free since then.
Because of how they stood behind the bike they sold my son, I stored my bike there and had some work done over that winter (I had to find SOME way to show appreciation for how they treated my son). Very happy with the way they treat people. Mario, Andy & Tom are great people...
