Went in for a Sunday brunch and got a spinach omelette with hash browns & English muffin, and eggs over hash. The omlette was ok, but uninspired. The English muffin was dry, possibly toasted (but if so, so lightly as to be undetectable), and without butter, jam, or anything to make it tasty. Similarly, there was no offer of ketchup or such for the hashbrowns. The waitress was not available to ask for anything from the time our food arrived till we were finished our meal, so we ate it as served.
The eggs over hash came with a salad which was partially under the hash. This meant a good quantity of hot and wilted salad -- the worst of it being the mouthful that contained a hot cucumber slice. Uhg. Awful. Cucumbers should not be hot. Additionally, the hash was extremely salty. The eggs were perfect, but could not compensate for the rest of it.
They were good about asking if we needed more coffee or Bloody Marys; with both beverages being acceptable quality, but not...
Read moreWe came early to eat before a concert. It's been quite a long time since we've been here but I forgot why we didn't like it the last time. Why do locals like it? The only reason I can think of is because it's convenient. No one that comes to eat here can really be a foodie. It's basically a night where one doesn't have to cook. Well, let me tell you that there are far better places to eat than here.
The burgers were over cooked despite asking for medium. We didn't get fresh fries on our plate but the burnt ends of fries intermixed with some real fries. We would have told our waitress but she hardly came over. I was half way through my burger when she finally came to ask how our food was. They had forgotten to give me Mayo and mustard because, boy, my over toasted bread and dry burger needed it.
Yikes. I know prices have gone up but for the quality and quantity of food, the prices are outrageous. Again, I'll stick to the restaurants that have similar prices with...
Read moreDisappointing and unprofessional. Hostess (probably) gave our table to another party.
Earlier today, we arrived at 5:30pm as a walk-in party. The hostess estimated that we could be seated in 20 minutes, so we left our name and number and walked around Wayne. When we didn't get a call (no missed calls either) around the estimated time, we walked back to the restaurant, at which point the hostess told us that the earliest they would be able to seat us was now 6:30pm.
In other words, the initial estimate of 5:50pm became 6:30pm or later. What was worse - when we expressed incredulity that the estimate was extended that much, the hostess was totally unapologetic and simply asked if we wanted her to cross us off the list. We left.
While estimates are estimates, it’s very unlikely that it would be that far off - what is much more likely is that the hostess gave our table to another party without bothering to call us first. Disappointing and...
