My boyfriend and I came in to kick off the new year with a breakfast date. We’re huge fans of Bruegger’s so we knew where to go. We wanted to try out the Hillsborough location for the first time because it’s a touch closer to home.
Well, we made a mistake. We placed our order, and while doing so, witnessed someone steal someone else’s food. They ended up giving the customer a replacement along with a free sandwich, which was a great move.
We sat and waited for 25 minutes, which is a major first for Bruegger’s. Not even our cold brews were made. When we asked about it, they said someone else must’ve taken our coffees. What had actually happened was that I had heard our coffee order, stood up, and witnessed a team member handing it to another customer. I figured I must’ve been wrong. They gave us new coffees and our bagels. At that point, our parking was about to expire so we had to rush out the door to make sure we didn’t get a ticket. We get to the car, and one sandwich is entirely wrong and the cold brew coffees are TRASH.
We go back to get a refund, sandwich and two coffees in hand. When we explained we can’t eat the brisket because it’s beef, they asked why we can’t eat beef. In normal conversation, that’s totally fine to ask. When a customer is returning food, not a good time. After attitudes going back and forth, excuses made, and obviously a lack in problem solving to maintain customers, we got the refund. But it was about half of what was due back.
Now we’re sitting at the Avent Ferry location, and within 3 minutes got our cold brews and waiting for...
Read moreI love Bruegger's. I've visited almost every one of them in Raleigh. However, for the longest time, I haven't visited the Hillsborough location due to bad experiences. These days it is convenient to go by there more often, so I have... and I've been disappointed every time.
First of all, every time I go in, my order (no matter how many times I repeat it) comes out wrong. It could be a little thing, like cream cheese, or a big thing, like charging me for meat when I said three times that I didn't want meat. However, that is not as much of an issue as the service problem.
It's a small store, and it gets a lot of traffic. The pace of customer service? Totally irrelevant. However, twice in the last month I've been ignored by the people working there for the person behind me. That is absolutely ridiculous. I understand it can be confusing about the order of customers, but there is no reason you can't ask the first person in line whether they have ordered yet. I also don't feel like I need to catch an attitude about my order when I am trying my hardest to be pleasant under the crappy circumstances that are ALWAYS that store. I just don't feel that I have ever been really paid attention to in this location, and that I'm doing something wrong just for ordering some breakfast.
So overall, just avoid it. I keep telling myself I won't go back, but somehow I get hungry enough to forget that I am about to walk into bagel hell... and I...
Read morei went here for the first time as I am an avid brueggers fan in cary. safe to say the bagel i picked up was incomparable to the brueggers brand I am used to. I picked up so I have nothing to say about the service or atmosphere, all I know is that my first bite sent a fight or flight response down my body, which I would later find out is my instincts telling me not to eat this thing. the bagel itself was tiny, uneven and nothing like I am used to, the bacon was basically raw and the eggs were GREEN????? it wasnt even a busy time for them so I am unsure what happened. the place also looked a little dirty for the brief moment I was there, but never could I imagine paying almost 10 dollars for this rotten object. While I am writing this I am attempting everything to get the rotten taste out of my mouth. disgraceful to not just brueggers but to cuisine itself. go to the Preston Corner location. **i have sent out a refund and complaint to the website directly as i am concerned for the health of the poor college students eating here **update 2: naturally i recieved a refund for my sandwich but i am seriously doubting if this place will get...
