WOWZAS… THIS PLACE IS A MUST TRY! Staying in Cary on a work trip and this place was highly recommended. We made reservations since we had a group of 7 and were told It is the ONLY place in Raleigh worth making time for. Blown away to say the least! Upon first glance walking up, outside patio looked extremely inviting and attention to detail was incredible. Walking into the joint to check in, we all agreed it was worth the drive. Hostess was attentive with a smile and working. Usually these days the kids just play on their phones and you feel like you are annoying them to come eat but that was not the case here! We were sat promptly and greeted instantly. The vibe was alive and people seemed to love their job. We were loving the vibe and atmosphere, it was so upbeat. The server was sharp and extremely knowledgeable navigating us all around the drink and food menu. I have not had service like this since 2019!!! We all agreed this place was phenomenal. Employees really knew their stuff, rare these days that is for sure! The attention to detail on cocktails and plate presentation were flawless let alone the flavor of the pork chops!!! We caught one of our co-workers drooling after his first bite… seriously!!! No one was surprised to say the least since we all agreed there was not a bad thing that hit the table. Super funny though because his new nick name is now drools since his name is Drew! I could go on and on and on about how incredible this place is and how amazing our experience was. You just got to check it out for yourself and thank me later! Hats off the owner of this joint, y’all are 2nd to NONE… Oh my… good Lord!!! We will always stop in no matter where we are visiting in North Carolina,...
Read moreThis place is so incredible, I don't know where to begin. I went in for lunch today and sat at a table in Mia's section. I was having some trouble deciding on what I wanted to do food wise, but I never felt rushed or in the way. My table was under a skylight and when Mia saw me squinting, she, completely unprompted, moved me over a table so I could get out of the sun. I started with the roasted cauliflower, which was awesome--I really loved the spicy aioli. I'm not usually a whiskey person, but when I saw the rack of assorted bitters, I decided to get an old fashioned and it did not disappoint. The beer I had was excellent as well. For my entree, I finally decided on the chicken sandwich with fries. Since it was not quite time for the fryer (they were at the tail end of brunch), Mia gave me the option of waiting so I could get fries. I was in no hurry and needed some time to digest my cauliflower, so I did. They were definitely worth the wait!! I like to have aioli with fries, so I ordered a side of herb aioli. Noticing this, Mia brought me some of their beet ranch for my fries as well, which was also quite flavorful. (I ended up rotating between the herb aioli and the ranch.) Since I was full of cauliflower, the super tasty chicken sandwich, and the incredible fries, I had to take my pot de creme dessert to-go, which Mia comped for me because of my fortitude for waiting for the crispy hot fries. I mean, who does that? I don't come to Raleigh often, but I've definitely found my new favorite place and my new favorite server. Hands down, the best service I've ever had in...
Read moreI can count on one hand the number of times I have sent food back at a restaurant - unfortunately my first and only time at Whiskey Kitchen was one of them. My husband and I both ordered burgers - him the beef, lamb for me - and asked for them rare and medium. Shortly after ordering the server came back and told us the kitchen wouldn’t serve burgers below medium for health code reasons. We were surprised to hear this but said ok fine, didn’t feel like arguing. When our burgers arrived both burgers were served WELL done - and at $20 a burger I had to say something. The server apologized and brought them back to the kitchen. Once again, the burgers came back overcooked - well done for the lamb and medium well (if I am being generous) for the beef. At this point we were starving and frustrated and I also noticed the menu had a disclosure on the burgers that they may be served raw/undercooked. We ended up speaking with the manager who essentially said that disclosure is there for legal reasons and that the kitchen typically cooks the burgers at medium only. She did apologize profusely and was very nice - as was our server - but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. This isn’t a McDonalds, for $20 burger I should be able to order it cooked to the temperature I want and medium isn’t an unreasonable ask but the kitchen just couldn’t make that happen. Really a disappointment as I heard good things...
