I was banned in October by Connie for no reason. She kept saying "we got you on camera", and I didn't do anything to get banned. No warning ,just banned because I motion to reach out to shake an employee hand...It's been over 6 months back in November of last year..I never bother anyone,I always come alone and eat alone, and I pay for my meals...Just that 1 day out the blue I motion to shake soupy hand and she was behind the bar at the cash register...So I stayed away out of respect and decided to come back today 6 months later to eat..Everyone spoke to me when I came in because I'm a peoples person ..I have a very nurturing personality and a endless source of Life Giving Power to share with others as well... I payed for my food and I was waiting in line when Connie appeared out the back and came up to me with a mean look and ask me have I talked to anyone. Before I could say anything she told me to come outside with her and again told me I was banned and never to come back..She made me wait outside with a glass of water in my hand til my food was ready..That wasn't right at all...I just left because that made me feel so uncomfortable....She didn't offer my money back...So basically I didn't get my money or food....So I just walked away..I asked her to call Maggie so I could speak with her and she replied,'Maggie is going to say it's up to me'..... I wasn't treated right and I don't and didn't deserve that treatment at all by far....I would like to speak with Maggie...I inboxes Maggie months ago and again today but no response...I deserve to have the right to attend there and eat like everyone else..It's been people who done worse things than that and still go there everyday...She didn't give me a chance by far....I also deserve to get my meal I payed for or atleast my money back even tho it's not about that it's about respect and Connie having a personal vendetta against me and not allowing me to come there and sit and eat like everyone else...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI didnāt understand the hype. Itās fine. Thats it just fine. All the 4-5 star reviews are just into the idea of giving to a good cause, and donāt seem grounded in facts. I found it by seeing high ratings and people claiming good food, but diving into the reviews after being unimpressed by the food... well it paints a different picture. The eggs and sausage were eggs and sausage... no flavor, no seasoning nothing just plain ole eggs and sausage. The avocado toast was better than a typical bagged bread... the latte was tasty but tiny. Nothing was bad... but nothing was good or noteworthy. Except the prices... I couldāve got this exact order for $5 at Dennyās or IHOP with the same level of flavor, but this will run $20-25, as the suggested price was stated.... but it was optional? I phone ordered and the total was stated as a question, which slightly confused me.. was I supposed to add a tip? No, when I arrived no receipt or signature was required... but then I learned you can opt to pay a different amount. If you were maybe strapped for cash or something? Just lower the prices to be affordable to everyday people and make the best products you can at the most reasonable prices to sustain availability. People who need the negotiation wonāt frequent this type of place. Theyāll see the price and go somewhere more affordable or transparent about community outreach. While the person who likely can go without or typically can pay will occasionally ānegotiateā or pay less just because itās an option. This is a nonsensical virtue signaling concept. Just lower the prices and make it affordable to help the community, do fund raising for those who need it and give back. Unimpressed and annoyed. Perhaps the concept should be a little more transparent to the random person...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI arrived here around 12:35pm on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with my friend. It was very busy. There is a pay for parking lot across the street. Iād suggest downloading ParkMobile if you donāt already. It was $5.95 for an hour.
Once inside, there was a person by the door who explained the concept. Their mission is āA Place at the Table provided community and good food for all regardless of mealsā.
Payment options: -Pay suggested price -Pay less than the suggested price ($3 or more for entree and a side/pastry/drink OR pay less than $3 for any side/pastry/drink) -Volunteer in the care for one hour for your meal -Pay it forward by buying a $10 place card to give to someone in the community or for someone who comes in an cannot afford meal
We waited in line for 15 minutes prior to ordering. My friend and I both did the build you own breakfast. I got 1/2 buttermilk waffle, bacon, and eggs. I got bacon jam as my condiment. I also got a side of buttermilk biscuit. My friend the 1/2 buttermilk waffle, grits, and bacon. I paid the suggested price for the meal and left a tip (that is considered a donation to the cause).
They have outside seating and an upstairs sitting area. We sat upstairs. There were 3 tables. The steps upstairs has writing that says āAll are welcomeā.
We received our food 5 mins later. The bacon was so crispy and delicious! The eggs were tasty too; I didnāt have to add anything to them. My waffle was awesome, especially with the bacon jam and syrup. I added my remaining bacon jam to my biscuit and it was great. No complaints at all! I would most definitely return!
I noticed so many volunteers! They were on it too! Tables didnāt remain dirty long. They were also extremely friendly. I love the concept and I highly recommend this...
