Well, here it goes, I wanted to wait before I would review this place, As I saw the reviews and was hesitant at first and you can’t always judge a place the first time. As new places take time to adjust and are rarely ever perfect in the beginning. Anyone in the restaurant/ food hospitality business or has been, knows what am saying. Especially this kind of concept. It’s new to the area and while we all know it is behind in a lot of ways. I have given the place grace, such a neat concept. Good food and multi diverse offerings, While the picking can sometimes be slim, we order from what is open, we always find something we want to try.. Me and my family, along with some friends, have eaten here a total of 5 times, and have enjoyed it. , sometimes food has been served warm or not hot but that happens. By the time you Pick up take home, it’s going to cool down some and you may have to rewarm it, I’d expect after getting food delivered it’s not going to be pipping hot. We follow them on Instagram and saw they posted video about seating soon. We will look forward to that. The people in the front are not the best at customer service but the quality coming from the places we have ordered make up for the other areas, The food is particularly appetizing to our pallets. The Jamaican food has such tasty goodness, you can taste all the flavor put into the jerk chicken and OxTail. Let’s not get started on the collard greens they serve. Thaiphoon bistro has some of the best pineapple fried rice I’ve had in RTP. Raleigh Tamales has some of the freshest Tamales, larger than usual, so fluffy and so much flavor, the salsas are delicious. We look forward to trying the rest...
Read moreI want to love this concept, I really do. We ordered from 5 different restaurants and waited about one hour (Friday night) to finally get our text that the food was ready. When we got there one order was missing, so we waited some more only to find out they ran out and we got a refund instead. Got home with basically really cold food. They absolutely need to fix the timing issue when ordering more then one restaurant. Now on to the food part of the review. Raleigh Tamales was amazing! We got the quesabirria tacos, birria tacos, and two tamales. So good even reheated, saves us a trip down capital blvd to the food trucks near 440. The meat literally melted in our mouths. Will absolutely order again 5/5 stars. Oink N Moo: 8$ for the smallest (one cup) of really bad bacon mac n cheese, kids wouldn't eat it after one bite. The cheese was separated from the noodles and congealed, the noodles overcooked and the bacon was soggy. Not sure we want to spend the money to risk trying BBQ , 0/5 stars. Thaiphoon Bistro : we got chicken Satay, chicken lo mein, and coconut cake. The quality simply did not match the price point, 3/5 stars, however the coconut cake was delicious-moist and flavorful 4/5 stars. We ordered the butter chicken from Curry in a hurry but that was the missing order so we never got to try it. We got a cannoli and black and white cookie from Vics ; the desserts were okay albeit the cannoli was soggy but we will probably try the pizza. We will definitely try some of the other restaurants but maybe not so many at one time until they can time it better. Shining star was...
Read moreFull disclosure, the founder of this facility is a classmate of mine college. So, take that as you will with my review.
We went to The Flavor District for a birthday celebration. My oldest said she'd heard about and wanted to go. So, we got the family together and met there.
The staff was very nice and explained the whole operation and how to order to us. While we were ordering, I kept thinking, ok, place the order and then get seated for family style sit-down. Only after I ordered did I realize that there was no seating, LOL, just a waiting area while you waited on your food. Not a deal killer, but I wish I'd had known in advance.
We did have to wait quite a while for our food. I understand the ghost restaurant concept, but there seemed to be some miscommunication somewhere because, after waiting nearly 25 minutes or so, it was only after we checked on the food was it immediately brought out.
The food was fantastic. My oldest had stuffed turkey leg plate (around 25 dollars), my wife had the chicken cheese steak, and I had the lamb and grits bowl. The food was definitely food truck price, but that was cool; just know what to expect.
Overall, it was very good. Everyone was patient with the staff and the process. We were there on a Friday night around dinner time, but the staff handled the flow well.
Hats off to Dave for putting together a great...
