This is my go-to place for burgers in North Jersey. The staff and management are very cool and the burgers are the closest I have tasted to In & Out, which you cannot get on the East Coast. There is a giant box of peanuts you can nibble on while you wait, but why wait? The most convenient way to do it is to go to their website and then schedule a pick up a short time later. It is there when you arrive. Otherwise it can take a while to get your food but that is a good thing because they are cooking for you. No heat lamps!
I marked one star down for things that all 5 Guys locations suffer from:
-- IMHO the fries are not that good, -- I have yet to have a burger wrapped properly in lettuce (it always falls apart, unlike In & Out which rarely falls apart), -- and in the winter every location I have been to has been drafty and very cold.
Again, I get that the staff is cooking and hot and that the food is freshly cooked, but I recommend doing take out in the winter and bring a plastic bag to carry the food so that the grease doesn't seep through the bag as you drive home (and on to your car and clothes as has happened to me a...
Read moreI entered to the sound of familiar music, the shafts of evening light illuminating my way to the register. A fine young man, Ran by name if the receipt is correct, proceeded to imputed my order with speed and accuracy. The food was prepared with care and unusual enthusiasm for such an establishment, lending a feel of appreciation to the fine quality of my food. The burger had two parties, lovingly rolled that morning and carefully wrapped betwixt buns, a recipe which I am told is proprietary. It was juicy and delicious, and the fries were perfect. Firm enough to be grabbed when ravenous, but soft to bite into, melting in my mouth in a way I can barely describe. I would come here again and again, and I would.not hesitate to bring friends or direct them here in my absence. Bravo, Five Guys of...
Read moreGreat place to have a good burger lunch. We always enjoy coming to Five Guys at Ramsey. I would like you to do the following to make this place even better: (1) The cheese must be melted on the burgers. It was NOT melted on both our burgers today. (2) The burgers were on the cold side. (3) the order was prepared in a quick fashion. Area of improvements: (1) Ensure that the bread is 100% fresh and moist (2) Have a full slice of Onion instead of chopped raw onions as an option.. I know that is mandated by your franchisor.. they should consider this.. (3) Introduce a couple of good sauces like Habenero or any other special Chipotle Five Guys or a ranch (4) Introduce...
