My mom and I pre-ordered food for Thanksgiving and we made sure to abide by the restaurant’s requirement to order 4-days-before, so on the day we dined-in, 11/20/24, we placed and paid for our food orders for Thanksgiving. They asked us the time we would like to pick-up, and set it for 11:30 am. Thanksgiving day arrives and my mother and I arrived at 11:45 am, thinking its better to be a bit late than early to ensure the food is ready. Firstly, we were not readily greeted by anyone when we arrived, as there was only 1 lady manning the front of the restaurant who also kept going back and forth to the kitchen. When we were finally acknowledged, we told her we had an 11:30 pick-up. She said that the food is being packaged and to have a seat and wait a bit. Fifteen minutes went by and still nothing. I’ve noticed some pre-ordered food already ready for 1:00pm pick-up time, meanwhile we were still waiting for our food which was already paid for and pre-ordered over a week in advance. The front lady doesn’t even offer any water or explanantion why the wait is so long. She was unaffected, on her phone, and when I asked if the food we ordered was barely being made at the time of our arrival, she concurred and walked back to the kitchen as if to rush the kitchen staff. I’m fuming because at this point she lied and didn’t give us the proper expectation to begin with. She wasn’t taking any initiative nor appeasing the situation. At this time we have been waiting for 40 minutes. At this point, my mom and I were just done and ready to cancel our order, but the restaurant is avoiding refund, so the lady went back to the kitchen and retrieved our food which was still incomplete. I’m more angry at the fact that the food that had later pick-up times and some weren’t even paid for (we witnessed a couple of customers who came and left before us and barely paid when they retrieved their order) were ready before our order. I also saw another customer who came back, she said, as she came earlier but her order wasn’t ready. The staff was unfriendly, inconsiderate of people’s time, and the food wasn’t even great. I was excited to have a Filipino restaurant near me as there aren’t many of them, but Noypitz is expensive and the food is just OK. I will not be...
Read moreUnless Noypitz changes quickly...they will die a slow death. With the amount of restaurants in the area, the competition is fierce. If they are hanging their hats on being one of the few filipino restaurants in the area with music, they better re-do their marketing plan on their target demographics.
We had high hopes for this place especially because we loved the West Covina location.
Decor was extremely lacking and felt like they were confused and didn't allocate enough money to design in their budget...didn't feel any pinoy culture, with no culture it was not even cool and modern. It felt like an abandoned Ross store and a half-baked concept.
Food and Service: Food was OK. Ordered about 6 different dishes...Nothing amazing and decent size portions. Upon entry, we were not initially greeted and waited about 10 minutes before a waitress saw us and sat us down. Then before we could even look at the menu, we were asked if we were ready to order. Waitresses appeared confused and looked like they were trying their best to be helpful and efficient but VERY POOR management gave them no direction on what to do or how to do. They lacked coordinationand failed to communicate among themselves. I would consider this restaurant on the pricey side and combined with other things mentioned...would NOT recommend to friends or family.
Atmosphere and Ambiance: Best part of the experience, LIVE music and band. Cover band playing some oldies and goodies but nothing amazing. Lead singer was ehh...but live music is always good! Instead of having proper lighting, they just turned off the lights, which made it somewhat difficult seeing our food and eating with friends and family. No ambient lighting for those not closer to the stage where there was lighting for the band.
Overall: We will not be returning to this restaurant any time soon, at least not at this point in time. Unfortunately, many others felt the same as we overheard 3 other tables singing the same song as us and talking about being disappointed. We Wish them success because we would LOVE to have a local filipino themed restaurant with live music in RC but unless things change quickly, they will not survive and we are very sad...
Read moreCame today and was immediately asked if we preordered food??
The food took about 45minutes to arrive, total of an hour and 30mins for the last dish to finally come (we sort of forgot we even ordered it). Instead of updating us throughout the wait on how long it'll take for the food to come, we were asked multiple times if we already ordered ?
The food was mid at best. One was even resting on a sizzling plate but somehow the food is cold? Make it make sense. With an average of $18-$25 per dish, the portion was definitely lacking. On top of the food being absolutely disappointing for its price, refills for an almost $6 soda is nonexistent?? If I knew I'd be scavenging for water because my $6 drink is non refillable, I would have gone to subway next door.
If you are looking for a filipino restaurant that actually serves food that makes you go "mabuhay philippines," this is not your place. If you enjoy pulutan + inuman + live band with technical difficulties, then congrats, you found your haven.
Definitely a place meant to experience once and then never again. I came ready to be disappointed because of what others have said, I just didn't realize I'd be experiencing twice my already low expectations. A zero...
