Used to be good quality, but in the last 5 years or so it has dropped significantly and the tactics the staff uses to pressure you for sales is getting a bit thick. Refused to honor a $100 gift card that was legally and lawfully obtained through CashStar. I got the card in 2018 and tried to use it a few times at this DXL location. Each time they claimed that their system was down and they cannot process the card. A few months ago, I figured I can use it online instead (and I figured buying shoes is safe since their clothes are garbage now) , but it asked for a PIN (in 2018 a PIN for these eGiftCards was not required). I called customer service and after repeated back and forth, I get a chipper email from a rep saying they voided my card. They said they would issue another but after three attempts they gave up. I asked if they could send a physical card because of the issues THEY were having with THEIR card system but they refused. They treated me like I was a criminal attempting to take their money. The customer service was nasty and condescending. I ended up having to walk away from the gift card. Since I no longer have a valid card (the only working number I had they voided without my permission) I have no legal recourse other than just to let others know what kind of company DXL prides itself on being. I can take them to court and spend another few thousand to get my money back, so I was powerless to fight back. Now they have someone requesting my reviews get taken down or comment on my comment with "Sorry you had issues. Please call us with the gift card number and we will help you" They write this knowing that they voided my card number and therefore I have NOTHING I can use to call them on. Insult on top of injury. Vindictiveness for the sake of proving they can. I would refrain from going to this store and would refrain from buying online, because if they do not just take your money outright, they will overcharge you...
Read moreAfter going to JCPenney and trying on a couple of suit coats that didn't feel comfortable. And I couldn't find the right size pants. My friend that was with me suggested that we go to a big and tall store. There was one just at the other end of the parking lot. We went to the DXL big and tall store. because my friend said I needed a big and tall store because the sizes and JCPenney weren't as big as I needed. Upon entering the DXL store I noticed that it was a men's store. Very nicely decorated and lots of nice clothes. A gentleman came up to me and introduced himself as Alex. Alex was very helpful in what I needed. He started out by measuring my arms and my chest and my stomach. I've never had that done before. But of course I've never been in a store like this. I'm 66 and I have never bought a suit before either. I Need one for my niece's wedding. I'm going to walk her down the aisle. Alex brought out a dark gray suit coat and I tried it on and it fit fine. It was a little more than I wanted to spend though. So he brought out a lesser priced suit coat. The suit coat fit me just fine and I looked good. Okay how about pants. He told me what size my waist was and length. I was impressed. Then he came up with a long sleeve white shirt. I then went and tried them all on. They all fit fine. I looked good. I'll look even better at the wedding. Thanks to Alex. You did a great job. Thank you for helping me. As I was checking out. I needed a bow tie as well. I Showed Alex a picture of the color that my niece sent me for ties. He pulled out a box of bow ties. I Picked one out. Looks good to me. I Got the whole ensemble in one store, and in less time it would have taken me elsewhere....
Read moreLook, I've been coming to DXL before it was even a DXL. I lived in Delaware for 17 years after moving from Pennsylvania. I was there from the beginning when it was Men's XL with the blue sign and all. I never had a bad experience....until I came to this location. I've been to so many DXLs across the country. Delaware, Pennsylvania, Jersey, West Covina, Las Vegas, and now Rancho. I love this company. BUT, BIIIIIIIIG BUT, I will never come back to this location. This place is as filthy and nasty as the Employees are rude! No help, no hello or welcoming, bathrooms look like some run down gas station bathroom somewhere in the remote Mojave. No one helping customers get a dressing room, no one knew where things were, no one said anything to me at check out. No greeting or goodbye the whole time or "can I help you?" I'm getting ready for my wedding and trying not to pay the LA taxes oh everything. But damn, looks like I'm going back to West Covina DXL....
