Yard House — Restaurant in Rancho Mirage

The wait time for dinner last night was 30-45 min. After checking with the Host to be placed on the list, you are notified once your table is ready to be seated by text.

I shopped at the River until my table was ready.

I ordered the Blackened Shrimp tacos with cabbage slaw, chipotle sauce. I really enjoyed the sauces within the taco. The vampire style taco was +$2-3 extra to have your taco shell cooked in a layer of cheese with a corn tortilla. Unfortunately the vampire style taco was too hard to bite into and it turned into a fight with your food moment. The taco shell was so hard that it definitely affected my eating experience. I enjoyed the Beans served with the two Shrimp tacos they were well spiced out of the dish and brought flavor to the bland rice. The "Spicy Rice" served with this dish is a tomato based rice however it has no flavor, nor heat as claimed. The rice was also wet and mushy.

The food was filling. I wish I had the opportunity to finish the second taco with the vampire style presentation. I decided to scoop out it's contents because the shell was awfully difficult to bite through.

The drink my friend had ordered tasted more like a medicine. The Acho Chile Liquor unfortunately didn't pair well with the pineapple in this drink. I think if there was more Coco Real cream that would take away from the pungent unappealing taste. The drink was about $15.

A guest in my party that ordered the Chicken strips voiced that the dish had something off about them. They were not able to specify if they were undercooked. However they made it clear to me something wasn't right about this dish. After taking a bite out some notice that the chicken strips like flavor and spice entirely. This was not appetizing. The fries was the only thing enjoyed on that plate.

I always enjoy dining at this location because of the stellar customer service and great energy fostered by the staff. I look forward to dining again with family...

Well the first thing I would complain about is the hostess wouldn't let us sit in another booth because she said she asked with the front desk so she didn't get yelled at for switching us we're trying to sit a little bit away from the front door, The booth that I wanted to sit at was one past the one we were at somebody came and sat people there she moved us all the way down near the door and I said we don't want to sit there The point was not sitting near the door she says well this is the only one I have because I can't double seat the server, We ordered tea they ran out they had to make more, then we ordered our meal My son and I ordered a mozzarella cheese pizza with sausage My husband had something else now the server should have said order this pizza and just order it with sausages instead of all the other stuff that he came with and it would have been cheaper instead he put the order in for cheese pizza plus sausage which was another $5 plus the $15.99, that was on our bill We said to the surfer that took our service place because he went home why is this why didn't the server just give us this other piece of that had a lot of ingredients on it for cheaper with just the sausage he says well he should have explained it to you but he didn't so his tip showed it even though he wasn't there to get a tip The manager fixed it but still you would think the server would be smart enough to say will order this because it's cheaper than what you're doing but he didn't so our pizzas would have been over $20 a piece if we didn't talk to the manager. That's why you got only two stars because your server blew it And we had asked for more tea, The server that took over for him wanted us to fill out a survey after so he would get more shifts, but why would I fill out a survey for somebody that saw us...

The place was a bit on the dark side, they should probably issue some flash lights , when you arrive, just so you don't have an accident getting to your table! I almost got lost following the hostess , their uniforms aren't really made for the dark unless your trying to hide ? Dark red shirts and black pants , they should have miners helmets with the head light and a couple little red tail lights ! I'm really not making fun of them , because they were actually very good at their jobs along with being very friendly with all the customers! I for one don't really like restaurants that are dark , it makes me suspicious, since I would prefer to be able to see what I am going to eat? It's not what I would call a family restaurant, it has more of a sports bar feel ! That's mainly due to the large T.V's and their claim to fame a whopping 128 different beers to enjoy! I wonder how long it would take to order and drink one of each beer , how drunk would you be? OK , I had the coffee rubbed ribeye steak minus the coffee rub with spinach mashed potatoes and broccoli excellent by the way! My girlfriend had had the pulled pork sandwich with onion rings , with some kind of cinnamon cake and cheese cake ! The sandwich was huge , she had to cut it in quarters just to get it into her mouth, she said it was very , very good, her dessert was pretty good as well! The only thing that I didn't care for was the price before tax and tip $ 63.00 for two people to eat dinner ? If you decide to give it a try, it's not that easy to find especially because their sign wasn't lit up and the parking lot didn't seem to have lights as well! So bring the wife or the girlfriend or who ever but definitely remember to bring your flash...
