Ok, so here I go. I guess everything can't come up roses every time I step out the door. So it's Saturday nite it's 9pm and I want to go to Blaze. We're in Ranch Mirage and my good friend suggests we go by Pielogy. It's Saturday night I'm thinking it near the theater it's going to be busy. With hesitation I agreed. The empty room we walked into should have been a red flag. Not being familiar with the place we step up to the counter. There's two visible employees, ones cleaning I'm not sure what the other was doing. They acknowledged us and said they would be right with us. After a few minutes they continued cleaning but because the place was empty I felt they could stop what they were doing and help us. Finally one of them came to assist us. My friend asked about what types of crust they had but it didn't matter because they they wrre out of one, had thin and gluten free?!?. Ok. So I guess that decision was made for us, thin it is. After choosing our toppings we ordered a beer and moved over to the register where we were greeted by a homeless woman asking for money. So we are in Rancho Mirage I guess we all poop money to give away. I was kinda offended that this would happen inside the restaurant. At the register with my wallet out! Ok I know what half of you are thinking but I do give to charity. I just don't want to do it on a Saturday night when I'm out with my friend. Strike two Pielogy. So we sat down and waited for the pizza. When it arrives, hell to the no. The crust was BLACK! I don't mean burnt and I'm not exaggerating either. It was unedable. I brought it to the attention of what I thought was the manager. All he had to say was that it was only burnt around the edges. Well excuse me! Seriously? There are two kinds of people in this world, crust people and those who don't like the crust. Guess which one am I! You don't serve someone burnt food and say don't eat that part. Who does that!? Anyway, I gave them two stars because the second pizza was good. Thanks to the toppings I picked. Being ignored, homeless people in the restaurant, and burnt food. Three strikes Pielogy. So I won't be in a...
Read moreI tried to call in an order only to have the phone ring more than 20 times only to hear a message saying that I can't leave a voicemail. Wanted to call in my order so when I got off the freeway I could stop in on my way home to pick up my dinner.
I stopped in anyway to find that there were only 3 people ahead of me and the crew making about 10 pizzas and a lady told me it would be about 10 minutes before they would take my order, I asked her "do you not take call in orders" she told me no only online. So I assume that all the pies they were making were online orders and just like Starbucks the people standing in front of them can wait.
This place falls into the category for me that I like to say, I have eaten there once. I can't believe that there is a pizza place you can't call in an order, how crazy. The platform that pieology has set, just like Blaze, is a great format but to ignore the people standing in front of you so you can focus on the online orders and not knowing how long before those people will pick them up is a poor way to operate a business.
A place I have...
Read moreGood pizza. Great variety of doughs. Nice young people working there trying their best. Very poor management and ambiance. They can't even afford to give you a $0.05 cent paper plate to eat off of. You are expected to go get napkins and then dish your slice on a napkin and eat off the table or out of the box. I know this isn't fine dining but come on now. Treat people with respect and make their dining experience as pleasant as possible. Life is too short to be handling a hot slice and have it fall over over your plateless table. Actually why even have tables ? You can save money and just throw the food on the floor and let people eat off of it? You charge $10 for a pizza and can't even provide a setting by giving a $0.05 paper plate because you are run by greedy corporate monsters,. Even a dog gets to eat out of a bowl. Shameful. I won't go back because of it and I eat pizza once a week and live here full time. Back to Pizza Vino Palm Desert . Sorry but the ambiance and client experience is as important as the food....
