I've been to this place numerous times. It's a place I want to go to when I want to eat healthy and craving salmon. My husband and I have met the super nice owner, Tim. He took time to walk over to our table once and chatted with us. The food is always fresh and good.
Now the complaint. There's only 1 person placing an order and we walked in. The young girl looked at us both and did not greet us. None of the 3 girls failed to greet us. Instead, the first young girl looked at my husband and then looked me up and down with a spiteful scowl look. She didn't say anything, then a second girl was talking to the 3rd girl behind the counter, while we waited. The 3rd girl walked over, we thought to help us, but instead told us someone would be with us in a few mins. Then walked away to talk to the 2nd girl again. We began to feel as if we were inconveniencing them. The 3rd girl finally walked up to help, when my husband asked a question about a meal item. She was very abrupt and rude and said she was the supervisor. Mind you none of these girls were wearing name tags so I can't tell you who they were, but we had the feeling that she was not the supervisor by the way she was acting. We were so upset by the experience that we left.
No one knows what customer service means these days. It's really sad. It would have been nice to have been greeted with a smile and served instead of waiting while they talked. The employees set the ambiance with their mood. Negative attitude promotes an unhappy...
Read moreDinner time on a Tuesday night, it was pretty empty here. We love poke, so are always looking for a new spot to try. We were disappointed. I ordered a half rice, half 'salad' bowl, with 2 protein scoops. The salad was unfortunately just spinach leaves (not mixed greens like the description online). The portion sizes for $16 was very skimpy. the smallest scoops ever, and not packed in like at other places where they dump it out in a clump, there were all of 12 tiny chunks of ahi there. My second protein was beets (oddly enough). I should have asked for it as a topping because really - it's not a protein, but it was listed as a protein option and I love beets... so. My dinner companion just had the "salad" (spinach) as a base (facepalm), then 2 scoops of crab. There were barely any toppings available (cucumber, green and red onion, mango, ginger, and soy beans - that's it). The sauces were okay, but not well displayed. Overall the food was tasty, but for $35 dollars, we should have gone to Pokehanna down the street and gotten 2 meals and 2 beers, and had leftovers. Disappointing. As my partner said, "the owner should go visit Pokehanna in Palm Desert to get some ideas". We will...
Read moreI typically love the food here and come often and I hate to write a bad review, but I had just ordered a bowl off of Postmates and I’m sad to say that this wasn’t the quality that I had remembered. Every time that I have gotten food from Haus of Poke, the food was all super fresh and tasty which makes this place one of my favorites in the CV. But this time, when I saw the bowl I was disappointed with what I had got. The rice was chewy and overcooked leaving it in inedible chunks of gooey hardness, the fish had tasted slimy and like it had been sitting out, I was given barely any mix ins (which is my favorite part typically!) I was given 3 pieces of red onion, the ginger was dry and stale?, it wasn’t good. It had even looked disappointing! I was really looking forward to getting my favorite food but unfortunately it wasn’t as good as I...
