When the food is good and the owner is the person welcoming you... rejoyce and plan to go back.
The carnitas I got late afternoon on my first visit were very tasty and sufficiently filling that...
Later at 🏠 home, I switched from a steak dinner to a specialty mixed-tomato soup with a Swiss-cheese sandwich.
The next day I had a light breakfast and skipped lunch to deal with a car problem. After an errand, I realized I was hungry... my eldest called to see if I wanted to eat supper out.
I surely did not want to be in the kitchen... and family always makes for great company so you do not have to eat alone!
I asked my son to do Tex- Mex as I was excited to share my new discovery. We met at the restaurant and got two wonderful meals: Pene Al la vodka for me and tacos camarones for him.
I rarely enjoy visits to the same place in rapid seccession.
Tell them Burke sent you. Cheers.
So, I have to tell all y'all... we needed to eat before a Saturday night concert in Metuchen last nigh. I mentioned that I had already eaten at Tex-Mex twice and really enjoyed the food... We were actually celebrating David Robert's 50th birthday!
We did so in fine style when we combined Tex-Mex meals with the concert. Cheers.

Read moreLonging for the return of Carlos O'Connors. Reasonable prices, good service, but food quality could be better.
This is the 1st time I returned to dine here since it changed ownership, and IMO, the change is not a positive one. Gone are the eclectic decorations and off-beat ambience. More importantly, the food quality appears to have deteriorated (caveat, my sample size is limited). The vegetables in my fajitas were overcooked and overly saturated in oil. My partner fared better than I, the vegetable quesadillas were acceptable, maybe even good. The portions were large, though I was a little surprised when the fajitas arrived with just two small flour tortillas (though, when asked, the server quickly brought more).
On the positive side, the service was friendly and polite. The prices are reasonable, especially for Red Bank. But, maybe the best reason to dine here, Kitchen...
Read moreThis place is a real gem. It's a family run business. Mom and son whose name is Miquel serve as hostess and waiter, while Dad cooks in the back. We had the chimichangas with rice and black beans. The meal served to us was so delicious. Miguel, our young waiter was very attentive. This place serves big portions of food at a very reasonable price. Best Tex-Mex food I had in a long time.
Revisited May 24th, 2024. I love eating here. The food is so good. This time I tried Sprimp with sauteed spinach. It was served with rice and beans. My husband once again had the chimichangna. Miquel was our waiter this time as well and he's such a delight. We plan to come back to this place in June, this is a must visit place if you want...
