The Penang curry is one of their best items along with Pad Thai. The red curry (vegetarian version) was okay. The Tom Kha (coconut milk) and Tom Yum soups were very good. For the price, I thought the spring rolls were tiny. The Thai basil fried rice was absolutely bland at medium spice surprisingly. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food overall was very good. Was it worth the price? No, especially when you finished the quantity. There are similarly good Thai restaurants at lower prices though maybe not easy to find in Jersey. Muang Thai is an attempt to be fine dining which it achieves through the food and ambience but not service. Be warned the jump in heat from medium to spicy is 2-3x the usual expectation and can get quite hot. Sadly, I will corroborate what most others are saying about the service here - they have a holier than thou attitude and are visibility piqued when you ask for clarification or adjustments as though there is a lack of comprehension or surprise for the need.

A big 4 1/2 stars for Muang Thai restaurant. Went here on a recommendation and was pleasantly surprised. So much decoration everywhere it took us a while to order since we were caught up in looking at everything. The menu is quite large, so have an idea of what you are looking for. The Chicken Satay appetizer was amazing followed by this delicious little ginger salad. The Red Curry Chicken was very good and the Tom Yum Noodles with beef was a large portion but lacked in flavor and the peanuts were chopped a little too small making the noodles a bit gritty. The service was a little slow and I don't understand why waiters don't remove the plates from the first course before bringing the second course... IDK. All in all it's a fine place to go so check it out.

Great Thai restaurant! Authentically decorated with a relaxing atmosphere. The server was very nice too. My daughter ordered Muang Thai Wrap which was to die for! I can’t wait to go back to have one myself - delicious. I ordered Pad Khi Mau and would order it again. It was very tasty. I wasn’t sure about the degree of spiciness so I played it safe and asked for mild but I would take it up a notch next time. My husband had the Basil Chicken - also delicious and we would order again. We had spring rolls for appetizers-good. Dessert we ordered fried bananas with raspberry sauce and ice cream. They were just okay, I’ve had better. Overall, this is a great place and I’d definitely go back - Hopefully soon, to try more dishes.

Muang Thai is the Thai restaurant this area has so desperately needed. Siam Garden doesn't do it for me & Bangkok House is disgusting, so I was definitely feeling a gap in Red Bank's offerings. Enter Muang Thai!

It's a tiny place, with usually only one server working the floor, but she's always very friendly & works hard. The atmosphere is nice, calm, quiet, decorated in bright colors with a Far East flair.

AND THE FOOD. This is the best, most authentic Thai I've had in a long time, on par with all the places I love most back in DC. The menu is massive, with any standard Thai dish imaginable & a number of combination options to give you the chance to try more than one (they've got names like The King, the Queen, etc.) I'm partial to the chicken basil, which is chicken ka prow, for those familiar with standard Thai dish names. They always make it for me without mushrooms (I'm allergic) & will make it spicier upon request. I like it to much that I haven't tried anything else! My boyfriend loves their massaman curry, which is sweet & creamy with potatoes, cinnamon, & avocado, among other things. We've also tried a number of their appetizers, all of which have been delicious. In other words, I've never eaten a bite of food there that I wasn't enamored of.

Muang Thai doesn't do delivery (yet?) but I'm hopeful they will in the future. For now, they only do dining room service & curbside pickup. But the dining room is rarely full, the service is fast, & the food is amazing. Go there! Now! I couldn't love it any more if I tried, & I hope you'll feel the same. I want this place to...

I don't usually give bad reviews, but this is possible the worst Thai food I've ever had. The WORST place of my 20 years in US. Beware the price are very over priced with what you get on your entrée compare to other Thai cuisine around area. So we visited this place with a friend late Saturday 9/20/2014 night for dinner two hour before they close down. The waiter attempted couple of times forcing us to order before chef close the kitchen and I guess they wanted to go home soon. After placing an order for everything we got our food including appetizer, entrée and soups all at once, again we were told kitchen is closing down (in other words order eat fast & order rite now before we close). I know Thai food is known for spicy side, but for some reason our food was beyond tolerance level, we end up enjoying soups and our spring roll in our appetizer. The worst part came in later after we paid the bill and left the tip, WE WERE CHASED BY THE OWNER IN THE PARKING LOT AND MAKE US PAY THE TIP ATLEAST 15% of our total bill. She had a bad look on us and made us guilty like we committed a crime by just given them only 10% tip. I’m a true foodie person, however this food was not that great and way too spicy. I dont know where the 4 and 5 stars come from. I went to try this place because I was in the area with my friends and saw the reviews. Its what we call a little while...

LOVED IT!!!!! All my years of going to Red Bank and eating at, what I thought, was every place in town, I NEVER thought to go here. Went here on a 2nd date and from the second i walked in i was AMAZED! The restaurant itself is BEAUTIFUL!!! SUPER authentic to the Thai theme. I legitimately said, Wow this place is beautiful! Everything from the decor to the outfits of the waiters and waitresses, just stunning. As we sat we were quickly asked for our drink selections. Loved that. We were given a few minutes to review the deliciously put together menu. I didn't know where to begin. For appetizers we had the spring rolls. Perfect serving of 4 finger length lightly pan fried rolls. Their homemade spicy duck sauce was the perfect pairing. We had thai iced tea, which is orange, I know.. I was like whaaaa??? Lol but trust me, the most delightful and delicious iced tea you'd ever have. For dinner I had the shrimp and pineapple fried rice. OMG, AHHHHH-MAZING!!!! The portion was enough for 2 people! But it was just mine! I couldn't finish and brought home the rest (next day's lunch lol). It was just the right amount of veggies, pineapple and shrimp. There was fried egg stirred in there. I love extra egg in mine btw and it was everything I imagined and more. The service was impeccable. Couldn't be happier. I will definitely be returning...
