The food was amazing, but my experience wasn't so good. I ordered the Inferno burger, and they brought it out burnt the first time, so I had them remake it. They brought out a second one which looked way better, but the burger was so incredibly spicy to the point where it was basically inedible. I have a considerably higher tolerance for spicy food than most people, so when I go to restaurants that serve a "spicy" burger, they are usually not that spicy, so I didn't expect something that would make me unable to finish more than half of it. There is a big difference between food that is spicy and tastes good, and food that is so spicy that it just tastes like pain, as if it was never meant to be eaten in the first place. It should also be noted that there weren't any real warnings on the menu that this food was spicier than what the average person who thinks mayonnaise is "spicy" would be comfortable with. I am disappointed that I had to pay $9.25 for a burger that was unnecessarily spicy that didn't really have any significant warnings aside from the waitress saying only that "it's hot". I told the manager this and he just shut me down and wasn't apologetic in any way. I wasn't offered anything to make it better or to make up for my poor experience. Aside from that the rest of the food that my friend and I had was amazing, and I do plan on returning. I just won't order that burger again, and I suggest that unless you have superhuman tolerance for spicy food, you should not...
Read moreOk, let's start by saying this place has good bones. We were immediately greeted and seated. It's not big so, probably not for a large party. The board specials were attractive and priced fairly. We diverted to the menu. I asked if I could substitute a pancake over the eggs with the corn beef hash. No. But I could order a pancake with a side of cbh. Cool. Husband ordered a hamburger that came with fries. Good looking burger and solid fries. He enjoyed it. My pancake was plenty tasty, the size of the plate but the one pat of foiled butter and maybe 1 oz of syrup seemed stingy. The corn beef hash was meh. Seemed to be the bottom of the pan, near end of service borderline burned, crusty. For the $7.50 side fee I was hoping for better. Bill time. Husband's coke was $3.50. He was never offered a refill. I had water, which, also not offered to be refilled. One pancake was $4.50. They push the pie. I get it, they're closing in an hour and a half. Get a slice to go. They charge a convenience fee for cc. Fifty cents for the to go pie container. Really? Slice (small but tasty) We paid cash for which they removed the convenience charge. I think it's a good place with a good vibe but the extra charges...
Read moreFirst, this would be amazing breakfast place for non- GF and Celiacs. There are no gluten free options, not even muffins as some experienced. Everything is cooked on the same grill (toast, eggs, etc.). They were not able to cook eggs in a pan because there was only one cook. I asked for a hard boiled eggs and after checking the server returned with an affirmative on the hard boiled egg and the cook would slice it. When I asked her to not have the cook peel it or slice it (as they use the same cutting surface for toasts as well, she said the the hard boiled eggs were already peeled as they make them once wvery three days and store them in water until they are needed. I declined and said I have a GF protein bar. However I couldn't eat the protein bar because MN Restaurant Law/Policy forbids outside food. So I went into the bathroom and ate my bar. The server was nice about it, she felt bad when my eyes teared up. However, the menu looked amazing with down-home breakfast cooking. From real corned beef hash to chicken fried steak and what looked like amazing biscuits and gravy. It would be a wonderful place to go if you...
