Great selection of beers! Ask for a sample if you're not sure what you want to order. The wait staff is super helpful. I ordered the Haddock dinner. The fish was great. I was a bit disappointed in the sides. I ordered vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy. The veggies were good - it was a mix, broiled with some seasoning salt, but I was disappointed that they used frozen veggies in August. They had to broil and season them in order for them to have flavor. Red Wing is in the middle of farm country with fresh veggies all around this time of year. I'd rather have some seasonal offerings than a mix of broccoli, cauliflower and carrots from frozen. The mashed potatoes were good, but under seasoned. The gravy was awful. It tasted like flour. With that much meat being made in house, would it not make sense to use some of the drippings to season the gravy. If you really want a white gravy, then add some salt and pepper and less flour. The price was nice though. I'm visiting from Colorado and found the pricing to be very fair across the board. This is also a nice place to enjoy a view of the water.

We visited for a weekday lunch. The weather was lovely so we sat out on the patio, which was great, though the occasional train comes by at full speed, horn blaring, and can make talk difficult for a few minutes. We ordered drinks and a cheese curds appetizer; the curds were still MIA when our main meals came out, but our server realized this and promptly brought them out with apologies. I have to say, the cheese curds were amazing--the beer batter gives the coating a nice light crispness. I ordered the nuts and berries salad. The toppings were nice and generous, but that also included a lot of finely-chopped celery, which I am not fond of, so I wouldn't get this salad again; it was otherwise good, though, and by no means discourages me from returning. The breadstick that came with the salad was awesome and had a core of molten cheese, which makes everything better. My husband had a burger, which he really liked. Our companion had a salad that she seemed to enjoy, too. Overall, a really great restaurant, and one I hope to visit again!

This place might be ok if you’ve been out drinking on the river all day, but genuinely the food and drinks were the worst we’ve had in a long time. The atmosphere gives the appearance they know what they’re doing but don’t be misled. We ordered specialty drinks and wings to get things started. The wings were served swimming in a puddle of sauce and specialty drinks were syrupy, watery, generally not good concoctions. One of the six wings retrieved from the depths was a mangled bone that curiously made its way into the frier and wound up in our basket. The server acknowledged the mutant wing and took off to the kitchen to retrieve a replacement which never arrived. 10 minutes later we finished our sorry drinks, flagged down our server and closed out, with the server offering a discount for “the wing”. The service and atmosphere were pleasant but the food and drinks were just bad. There are much better options in the area, seek those out - not recommended.

I wish I could give this place a 2.5 star, but that's just not an option. This was my wife and I's first stop and there were some good things and some bad things, but definitely room for growth. After asking a neighbor about this place, we went with some recommendations of theirs, but I think I would need to give it one more shot to see if anything would change.

Sign said to seat ourselves, so we went for a patio spot on a beautiful day that we had. As soon as we sat, it took a bit of time for someone to approach our table and assist us and it wasn't very busy either. Ounce we did get a server, we were able to order some ice cold adult beverages - Kona Longboard and a Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat. We also ordered our first recommendation from our neighbor, the Burnt Ends Appetizer.

These bad boys are the ends of their smoked brisket and served with your choice of sauces. We went for the a berry puree and the house made BBQ sauce. Both sauces were delicious and definitely worth ordering, but not all that big for what you pay for. As for the main plates... Well lets get to those.

My wife went for the broasted chicken while I went for a pork belly burger. Lets start with the better of our two plates, the broasted chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and it had a really good seasoning to it as well. I've tried a lot of broasted chicken and Kelly's is up there. I've had better, but it was delicious. But, since it's chicken... There really isn't much else to say...

As for my pork belly burger (and another recommendation), Nothing to brag about at all! The burger was pretty boring and bland, I've had better pork belly elsewhere, but the addition of the gouda cheese was a smart decision. Another smart decision was the pretzel bun to help with just how boring this burger really was. I have a dozen other places Id rather enjoy burgers at...

They have quite an extensive list of brews on tap, including Minnesota brews, but like too many other taphouses, not enough variety. You're probably wondering how there I can say such a thing after just saying they had an extensive list. Well, having mostly, heavier ale's and IPA's isn't very diverse at all. They had around 30 plus brews on tap and I would guess that 80-85% of the selection was nothing but these two options.

If we do happen to go back to give this place another shot, I'm really not sure what I would order, but I'm hoping it's a better experience than our first. Really nothing to brag about, but than again, there really isn't much in Red Wing to brag about in...

We have been to Kelly’s twice in the past 4 months, with neither experience being good. Ironically we had the same exact issue both times. The wait staff seemed uninterested in serving us, even with our pricy order of Ribeye, New York Strip steak, an appetizer, and some add-on shrimp. After waiting about an hour to get our food (neither time was busy), the sides came out cold, and the steaks which we both ordered medium well came out like blue rare. And of course being the Minnesotans we were, we didn’t really want to make a stink about it, but it was to the point where we just could not eat the steaks. We asked the waitress to have them put the steaks back on the grill or something and after 20 minutes they both came back still rare! After waiting another 20 minutes for our waitress to come back we told her about it and she felt bad about the situation as we did not continue to eat the steaks and removed them from our bill. Don’t get me wrong, we have been there probably close to 10 times over the last 3 years and never had any issues prior to the last 2 experiences, but it just goes to show that whatever they have going on in the kitchen isn’t jiving with regards to cooking steak. I didn’t even want to post a review about my experiences, but I hope someone who wants a good steak, the way they ask for it reads this and chooses to go elsewhere. Tap selection seems cool, and the appetizers are good, but not for higher...

Second time eating here. First time we sat outside on a beautiful day and it was a good experience so we went back. Second time, was less good. We were inside and the room was so loud and the sun was in our faces through the large windows. No blinds/shades. No sound absorption at all. Saturday at 5:00 so they were busy and we didn't have to wait for a table, but we waited almost an hour for our food. The busser only brought out 5 meals for our table of 6 and for some reason thought that we were "good." I said we still had one more meal coming. Two kids both ordered brisket mac and cheese. He left and came back with something that looked very different from the first kids' plate. I asked why it asked why look the same. He copped attitude, rolled his eyes and said "it's the same thing." I said this is for a kid (a picky one) and he thought it would look the same as his brother's and sane as he ordered our first time at the restaurant. He stormed off and said something to the server. She came over and I explained what happened. She was kind, apologized and said she would comp his meal for the inconvenience. I wasn't expecting that, but was happy. She brought the new one out, but it did take a long time again. Then when she left the bill, the meal charge was still on it. I just paid it anyway. Didn't want to deal...
