WOW!! So happy we found this place. Literally, we passed it up because as in other reviews it's a little hole in the wall. We were greeted immediately with a warning that it could take up to 30 minutes to get food ordered and up, but they had coffee and we had time to wait. I saw the 'Oakie' and knew I wanted that, my man saw the build your own fried egg sandwich. Once we ordered it took about 12 minutes to get our food. The first bite was perfect! The gravy on my Oakie was so creamy and flavorful. It had the right amount of flavor/spice it wasn't greasy it was just soooo GOOD! The potatoes were salted right, they were a bit crisp on the outside and soft inside the way breakfast potatoes should be. Oh my gosh! I was so happy to eat there! The Oakie portion was BIG! I'm a good eater, but my man and I could have shared it. His sandwich was equally tasty. With sausage, grilled mushroom and onions, tomato and egg on sourdough bread. His comment, "this is something I would make". Homecooked breakfast, but someone else did the work! This place is old but clean, small and friendly. It's definitely a 'dive' but what a SPLASH!...
Read moreWe never came here when it was Rita's. That's a shame. Walking in, I can see why I didn't. It is very small. You can notice in the pictures that it's quaint but small. Only 4 booths and 1 table, which was under the mini-split system. You can sit at the bar, though 5 bar stools are open. I did suggest that they redirect the air so that it didn't blow on that table. The cook said that they were going to take care of that soon. It's a family owned and operated restaurant. They get busy and backed up quickly. From the time we walked in; to the time we started eating, count on at least a 45-60 min wait when they're busy. Also, do order your food with the server right after you walk in so that it's already in the queue. The ambiance is very home feeling. They have only been open for 2 years, so they are still building themselves. Once the food was received, the food was outstanding. I had a sausage patty with my plate that was absolutely incredible. The food made the wait worth it. Do support this...
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming here before the new owners took over when it was Rita’s and we loved it then. Under the new ownership and new name “Tye dye cafe” we love it even more. So awesome seeing a young couple working together and rocking their dream of owning this cafe. Not sure of his name but the man who cooks the food is excellent at what he does and we always leave impressed. They make their biscuits and gravy from scratch, and we think they are the best in town! SO good! One thing I might add and not in a negative light in any way, is that it is really small and they seem busier than ever. We love coming here for the small town feel atmosphere and usually come when we don’t have any where to be so we don’t mind a little bit of a wait for our food(well worth it I might add). So if they are slammed like they were this morning, go there with that mindset and be patient, enjoy your coffee, and be happy that you’re supporting what seem like...
