I would like to start by saying the food is fantastic! The 1 star is not because of food but rather the customer service!

First, I attempted to call in a phone order and they never answer. Last time I called in an order they told me they took phone orders just not Friday-Sunday. Well today is a Thursday. I was doing something so I waited to try and call again. I finally got through and got so much attitude for wanting to place an order via phone. Should have been my first reason to just not order but my husband really likes their breakfast burrito.

Second, I get there and like ALWAYS Stacey (she gave me her name this time on accident) focused on the male customers in there more than the female customers. I’ve been supporting this business since their grand opening and she’s always been that way. So I watched as all 3 workers helped him with only 4 tables that had people at them before they even acknowledged I was there.

Third, after saying I was there for a phone order Stacey again rolled her eyes and rang me up. Then was like oh good you have cash so you won’t get charged. I thought charging for credit card purchases wasn’t allowed anymore? But anyways she never even gave me my change!! SHE JUST STUCK IT IN HER APRON! If she wasn’t so damn rude I would have called her out but it wasn’t worth it!

Fourth, I asked if I could have some salsa for the burrito because I didn’t see any in the bag. She argued with me so I went to open the bag to show her and she pushed my hand out of the way telling me she could go through it better, opened EVERY box, practically emptied the bag, blamed me saying it was because I asked for ranch (for my chicken tenders) and then rudely told me that when I got home she guarantees that I will find another one in the bag. So she yelled to another worker to grab one and she came out arguing that there was some in the bag! I got home and guess what NO salsa!

I really wish the owner would reach out to me because I have supported this place from day one and this woman has been horrible since day one! If I was a handsome man maybe I’d get good customer service but sorry I’m not! I don’t know how they can let this woman act like this every single time I go in, and looking at reviews she does it to a majority of the people. I am sad to say that I will no longer support this small Redlands business. I can get a better breakfast burrito at R burger and 100% better customer service...

Amada is the rudest restaurant server I have ever encountered. Her entire tone and demener is hateful. She walks around stuck up and entitled and cant be bothered to smile. I came in 2 weeks ago with my boyfriend who had just had a very paintful root canal. We sat down and started ordering. Amanda decided to argue with me over the fact that the Breakfast Shack never had a Belgian waffel with fresh berries on the menu. I know for a fact they did. It was what I had ordered the first time I had ever eaten there years ago and I remembered clearly what I got. Amanda had to say twice..."No we never had that". And she did so with a know-it-all attitude. My boyfriend started to experrience severe pain after we ordered and we suddenly had to get up and leave. Upon tellling Amanda of his pain, instead of sympathizing, she said, "So what you have to cancel your order now?". Like I was putting her out. I told her that no I would like to get the order to go and she still thought I was trying to cancel. While paying, I asked another waitress what Amanda's problem was. I told this waitsress that Amanda was very rude and seemed very upset that I was changing my order status to to-go. This girl was equally rude and stuck up for Amanda saying that she wasn't upset at all. I said you can tell by her hostilitiy and tone that she is mad. At this point I worried about my food getting spit on because both Amanda and this girl took off to the kitchen. I spoke to a third waitress and told her of the 2 other womens' behavior. This waitress was understading and went to check on my order. Amanda has no business working in customer service. She singlehandedly scared me away from ever coming here again. I have talked to a few friends since my visit and they are aware of Amanda and her attitude. She has no customer service or empathy. She walks around with a obvious vane attitude and like she just wants to pick a fight. She clearly hates people and her job. I was going through a tramitizing morning with my boyfriend and his pain. She coildnt even...

03-01-2023 These things are 10's on my 10 scale:

Biscuits and gravy Chicken fried steak Cinnamon roll bread pudding Coffee. Customer service and friendliness.

It's a nice place, I will be back.

01-01-2024 New Year's morning, we were the only customers in the restaurant very early in the morning, and upon entering and sitting we didn't think we would have good service....

That proved to be true, the waitress was kind of off and even a bit snooty? We had to ask for each refill of coffee, and when we asked for fresh hot water she questioned us about the water in the little teapot, it wasn't enough to fill a cup and by the time we were ready it wasn't warm at all.

I was never able to get a third cup of coffee as she just kept ignoring me.

We both thought a number of her comments were off, as if she either was indignant or didn't want to be there.

The manager was extremely nice and friendly.

I didn't talk to her other than to tell her that we tried our chicken fried steak with the gravy on the side and we thought it was wonderful because adding the gravy on top at the table gave you a superiorly crunchy chicken fried steak!

We ordered the potatoes well done and they were absolutely spot on! The seasoning was just right, not too salty but flavorful.

Eggs were cooked to perfection as requested without the whites being runny but not fried!

The biscuit was wonderful and fluffy, the gravy was very good, maybe the top 6 in our extensive search for good gravy.

Whoever was in the kitchen on New Year's Day was really doing a great job.

We had the cinnamon roll bread pudding. It was good, but pails in comparison to Caroline's cinnamon cake and clarkies cinnamon streusel muffin.

All in all this is a really solid diner, and the manager had casually mentioned that she was working on building the business.

I truly believe that she will...

5/08/22 update: I realize it was a bad idea to eat here on Mother's day. My husband and I arrived just after 1pm and put my name on the waiting list. They said it would be about 45 minutes, which we were fine with and expected. After almost an hour, all the other groups waiting outside were called including a group of 10+ people who'd put their name in after me. We went inside to find out how much longer it would be and there were several empty tables. They seated us with no explanation and I have no idea why they never called our name or if they were even planning to. We ordered the corned beef hash, a waffle, and the chicken and waffles. They never brought out my waffle. My biscuits and gravy had a hair in it. Our coffee and tea were never refilled. No one ever came to check on us, despite several people cleaning tables and restocking around us. They just dropped off the check and I had to ask them to take off the waffle since I never got it. There was no apology or attempt to make it right. I'm extremely disappointed in the service and honestly I couldn't enjoy the food because of how awful the experience was. Original review: I ordered to-go on a Sunday morning and it was ready in 15 minutes! Super fast and the food was really good even after the drive home, so I know it must be even better there. I'll definitely be getting food here again.
