Smiley Park makes for a great day of fun in Redlands. Not only is it full of beautiful landscaping of mature green trees, it is always clean and immaculate. It’s one of the very few parks that offers much activity and history in one place. Walking through, you will find the A.K. Smiley Public Library which is registered with the National Historic Society, as well as the Lincoln Shrine which houses one of the largest collections of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia. It is also home to the Redland’s Bowl which is an outdoor amphitheater that features exceptional music concerts and performances throughout the summer months. It does provide a cement walking path for strollers that leads from one side of the park to the other. There are no playgrounds, just grassy terrain, but there are plenty of benches and trash cans. My family made the most of it by walking the path of the park to the sidewalk, where we kept going to the next street, walking past the Redlands Bowl and then on to the Lincoln Musuem before heading back.
