I have visited this location twice and the only reason it's not receiving five stars is because our visit yesterday had two minor issues the first of which was completely understaffed for the volume of customers in the restaurant and the second my fajitas we're supposed to be for two people and half steak half shrimp however that was not the case. To clarify the restaurant was packed wall to wall and I counted four servers total including the bartender and those young men were flying around that restaurant they couldn't have moved any faster if they had jetpacks on. Honestly whoever manages that place needs a serious talking to because they needed at least four more servers to accommodate the volume of customers it was ridiculous to expect those young men to keep up with that volume it was impossible I have no idea how they were doing as well as they were truly. The other issue was that my fajitas were supposed to be for two people and we requested them to be half steak half shrimp. When the fajitas arrived about 15 minutes after everybody else at the table received food, oh there was mostly vegetables with a nice handful of overcooked shrimp and maybe a tablespoon of thinly shredded extremely dry beef. Unfortunately I was the one who wanted the beef and even after I picked every single tiny piece out of the dish it wasn't enough to make one taco so I ended up with a pile of vegetables in a tortilla was very tasty but there was just nothing to speak of and the tiny tiny bit of beef that there was happened to be so overcooked that it was almost inedible and I didn't have the heart to bring it to the attention of my server because that man was flying through that restaurant and I just didn't want to stop him he was working so hard and it wasn't his fault he didn't cook it. I knew if I sent it back it would be a half hour before I got a replacement dish and everybody else was already done eating so I just went home hungry my granddaughter ate the shrimp that was in the dish and she's 8 years old so she wasn't aware that it was very much overcooked she was just excited to be eating fajitas with Grandma so she ate it and she was full so that's all that mattered but I think something needs to be done because it's a beautiful restaurant and the flavors were amazing the previous visit was not nearly as busy and I did not have as a negative of his experience as far as food was concerned. I will say that the rest of the people eating with me I had no issues with their food however nothing that they ordered was cooked at the time in other words it was all stuff that had been cooked prior to dinner service such as green chili and chili colorado these things simmer all day in a pot and are just served out into a tortilla it's nothing that has to actually be cooked to order like a fajita. So I don't know about going back I'm kind of on the fence it was very expensive $30 and I left hungry I mean $30 was my meal and I left hungry so I don't know if we'll go back or not I'm torn we'll see what happens but if management reads this it's not fair to those servers and your chefs to overload them like that you need to hire a few extra people to accommodate your customers when it's busy like that and definitely do something about your steak fajitas I mean maybe I caught you on a bad night and you know the guy who was making my meal didn't have his glasses on and didn't realize that he didn't give me any steak that I just had vegetables I don't know but anyway there you have it and if anybody's reading this and wants recommendation the food is good it's very good I don't recommend going when it's busy though I would go an hour before dinner or an hour after the dinner rush go at an odd hour of the day so you can get good service and hopefully more attention to detail on your plate if you're ordering something that needs to be cooked to order other than that mean food is good I think I said that about 10 times now and yes I know I'm repeating myself and I am aware that there's no punctuation I'm talking into the phone and it is...
Read moreWe were ignored for 8 minutes after we arrived. The servers wouldn’t make eye contact to seat us. The couple in front of us was finally seated (the restaurant was NOT busy.) When it was our turn to be seated, I also asked for a booth, he became annoyed and told us we’d have to wait 5-8 minutes. Sure, no problem.
When he dropped us at a table, we were given chips and salsa. He didn’t ask if we wanted anything to drink while we seated. We took out our phones because it was too dark to read the menu. After 10 minutes in the booth, watching the couple ahead of us already get their drinks and order food, my mouth was burning. NOT one server made eye contact with us. Finally I waved both arms and the guy that seated us was annoyed that I bothered him yet again, I need something to drink. He then said I told you you have to wait 8-10 minutes more (we’re at 15 in the booth, 23 minutes total with nothing to drink and haven’t been greeted or been allowed to order.
I was highly offended and have NEVER been treated like that. We felt invisible. We decided since the Salsa wasn’t that great, chips were cold and stale and the servers could care less about the restaurant’s reputation, we decided to walk out. Even then, the “servers” starred with their mouths open. I guess the customers are use to the abuse.
My husband and I eat Mexican food out at least weekly, we just moved to the area and was looking for a regular place to go. I’m also a member of a woman’s club, so I was checking this out for places to eat.
When we left, We stumbled onto José Mexican Restaurant (in Walmart) shopping center. We were greeted immediately, placed our orders and loved the food and salsa. They have a salsa bar, hot chips under heat lamps, marinated carrots/jalopeñoes and they have five delicious salsas to choose from. You can have as much drink (I loved the piña Colada), chips, salsa and other sides. The restaurant is super clean. Our server went out of her way taking care of us. We not only saved a fortune, found a great place to eat.
It is really rediculous to treat customers like that. We will NEVER GO BACK. As we were leaving three 3 (servers) that ignored us had their mouths dropped open.
Try Jose’s, I had the shredded beef taco and chili relleano (amazing) 2 items $16.99 and the taco was huge. We also tried the chicken tortilla soup and cheese enchiladas. AND they...
Read moreLet me apologize for only taking one pic. But we were visiting when the entree’s arrived and just went right in.
Now because the chips, salsa and appetizer was so good, we couldn’t help it. We ordered Chimis Ranchera appetizer. Even in that pic someone had peeled one off the plate before I took the pic. It came with 4. The salsa and guacamole were fresh and awesome. I ordered the Carnitas Uruapan. Perfectly cooked and seasoned pork. The rice and beans again, awesome. The portion was healthy and I was definitely full after. Another ordered the Chimichanga Grande, I guess because the appetizer was so good he wanted more. Once again really nice portion of food and fresh ingredients. Lastly an order of the Chicken Tortilla Soup. She said it too was really good and was glad she ordered it.
Outdoor patio seating, cantina and lots of tables and booths. Food came out fast and our waiter was very attentive.
So, if you’re in Redlands and haven’t been to Las Fuentes, we definitely...
