Shocked. What happened? A bait and switch? I hate having to write this review, however I feel like as someone who enjoyed Terra with regularity, it’s only fair to warn both new customers and old timers. We dined at Terra several times over the past 11 months or so that they have been open…and had loved every experience, until tonight. We ordered several of our favorites including the Mushroom Tartine appetizer and the Paella, only to be confronted by portions HALF the size of what they used to be. I kid you not. Excuse me, what?! In the past the Mushroom Tartine appetizer was served on two large slices of sourdough (cut in half), heaped with mushroom goodness. This time it was one slice (cut in half) and literally half the portion it used to be…only enough for one person for $15. The Paella was even more disappointing, it kinda broke my heart. What was once a vibrant and impressive dish, was now a small, less than tasty, incredibly over salted portion of rice with a small scatter of vegetables. Again, half the size of what they used to serve…. Yet for the same price. What once felt reasonably priced at $26 for a nice sized, shareable portion, now felt incredibly over priced for size, taste and quality. As a regular customer I feel as though they’ve really pulled a bait and switch on their customers - I can no longer claim this as my favorite restaurant and we all felt like we sadly could not ever recommend this place again to friends and family. We understand that food costs have gone up, along with other inflation related costs- but trust me, your customers would rather pay the slight increase than be confronted by half portions at the same price they used to pay for the double the portion of food. For reference, I’m sharing old photos of what the food USED to look like. The impressive stuff they were known and adored for serving. Terra, maybe you could use these as reference for improvement?

As plant-based diners even though it is easy to find options in Central Oregon, high caliber dining is often missing; but I can tell you that we had amazing dinner at Terra Kitchen. The Patatas Bravas were an enjoyable appetizer of almost a Syracuse style potato with chimichurri. A large portion was served, and we could see why they recommend sharing, there was more than enough for the 2 of us. For entrees The Persian Stew was on point with a variety of vegetables on a base of basmati rice with a toasted / lightly charred Sourdough side. The stew had a variety of seasonings that were perfectly balanced and tempered. It was 1/2 price pizza night, and it seemed every table occupied had at least one pizza on it, so we chose that to accompany the stew as an entree and were delighted by the flavor profile and the 48-hour fermented crust it was listed as Sweet & Spicy and over the plant-based cheese and vegetables was drizzled a spicy honey - who knew?!? For dessert we split 2 different options - a cheesecake that to us seemed a cross between the best parts of cheesecake and Creme Brulé plated with fresh berries and candied nuts, as well as Chocolate Mousse minus the Chantilly - both were exceptional. Paired with a bottle of Dominus, the meal was outstanding. Terra has a friendly, intimate, and comfortable atmosphere. We highly recommend this place if you haven't discovered it already.

I’m sitting in Terra as I am writing this review. I’ll go through a breakdown of my review in the categories that matter for this location. Service: 5 stars The waitress has been super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The chef even came out and asked about the food or if we had questions. Location: 5 stars. We had no issues with parking because of the convenience of it being downtown. Ambiance: 4 stars They did good with the space that they had. I really enjoyed that they are getting plant life growing in almost any space available. The big kicker that dropped it down a point was the volume of the music. Food: 5 stars The dishes are DEFINITELY not a microwave dish that many restaurants do. Every dish we had exploded with different flavors. I will say, it was a bit spicy for my taste and I’ll probably ask them to tone down the spice next (and there will be a next time). Even though I am a wimp with spice I was able to handle it just fine. The food was amazing. If you really like meat, this is probably not for you. However, you don’t need to be a vegetation to enjoy this food (as I can attest). Overall: 5 stars. It was an experience to eat out and not just a convenience thing. Thank you Terra staff for being wholesome!

Terra Kitchen is a god send for people with food restrictions and dietary needs! I have celiac disease and Hashimotos. I found this restaurant when on a trip and had to go there again on my way back (and order extra to take home and freeze for later). On the first night, we were running late and nearly missed their window of opening, but by calling them ahead and explaining that this would be my first time eating pizza in months due to my dietary restrictions (including gluten free and dairy free), they let me order en route and did not rush us out of the restaurant when we arrived. The staff value feedback on the whole restaurant, and the fact that I had several food restrictions only made them intrigued to help me. The atmosphere is inviting and cozy with plant life, soft lighting, and without being too fancy.

For the first time, I got the ultimate veggie pizza with the cauliflower, gluten free crust, dairy free cheese, and asked her to skip the mushrooms. I double checked on the whole ingredient list twice due to my restrictions and the staff were both knowledgeable and friendly with each exchange. The pizza was wonderful! I couldn’t believe how crispy it was, and I loved every bite! The pesto on the top made all the seasonal vegetables pop out. I hoarded my leftovers for the rest of the trip. My dad was thrilled with mushroom alfredo too! And it was the first time since I had been restricted from mushrooms where I wasn’t jealous of his dish. Mine was just too good to care about it :)

For the second time, on the way back, I got more adventurous and started with gluten free toast and vegan dip. Again, I checked on what was in the dip, this time double checking for soy or sesame with no problems. I feel so confident asking about the details here. They really care! The daily dip was made out of beets, walnuts, garlic and a little bit of paprika. I couldn’t get enough of it. For my meal, I tried a gluten free, dairy free risotto. There was more of an after taste of dairy free cheese in this dish compared to the pizza, but not in a bad way. The risotto was smooth and rich with the pea sprouts, cherry tomatoes, asparagus making a lovely balance of flavor. My dad had the seasonal special, the gyro, and praised it as being light and sumptuous.

On both of our visits, my dad got a gluten meal and I got a gluten free meal. I did not fear cross- contamination once! That’s how confident I felt with their service.

We did not get dessert. We got too full both times :) But each meal, dad and I ordered one of their personal non-alcoholic specialties. My dad and I both had the lavender honey the first night, and one my second night, I had the ginger beer with more happy results.

Everything is superb here! I hope to visit here often when I pass through. Or have a reason to stay nearby and don’t think I’ll ever get disappointed. Thank you, Terra Kitchen, for the...

Due to some flight issues, I had to stay overnight in Redmond unexpectedly. Terra Kitchen was conveniently attached to the hotel I was staying at, so I decided to give it a try. Boy, was I glad I did! It was hands down one of the best meals I've had in a long time, and it turned what could have been a stressful situation into a delightful experience.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The entire team was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel right at home. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy yet modern, with a relaxed vibe that was perfect for unwinding after a long day.

The menu had a fantastic variety of options, but I was particularly drawn to the mushroom dishes. Every dish I tried was a testament to the chef's skill and passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients. The Mushroom Tartine was an absolute standout, with the perfect balance of flavors and just the right amount of goat cheese.

What impressed me the most was the impeccable service. The staff was always attentive without being intrusive. My water glass was never empty, and the food came out hot and fresh, timed perfectly. The servers were knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, enhancing the overall dining experience.

I left Terra Kitchen feeling completely satisfied and grateful for the unexpected detour in my travel plans. It’s rare to find a place that excels in both food quality and customer service, but Terra Kitchen surpassed all my expectations. If you find yourself in Redmond, whether by chance or by choice, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You won’t be...
