The views were fantastic at the Rooftop, and the menu read so well we had difficulty settling on food choices... However, I could not have been more disappointed. We made our reservations online, only discovering after we arrived that posted hours did not match open hours.
Our food was low quality - pre-cubed (canned?) chicken (maybe microwaved to heat because it had no cooking marks on the outside but was dry and flavorless on the inside), topping a flatbread covered in raw veg, but then drowned in balsalmic to the degree that we needed water to wash out the flavor. We each finished off one of the several pieces served, but left the rest behind.
The beer and wine selection were good, with the expected markup, but my mixed drink (a lemon drop - one of my favorites) had such a large quantity of charcoal in it that it was sludgy like the dregs of the last bottle of wine from the barrel. It was also very, very lemony - more than any I'd had before, to the extent it started to sting my mouth. I wasn't able to finish the last 1/3, and we ducked into another place on the same block for some bland food to settle my stomach after the upset of such a strong acid and charcoal.
Mask requirements were not posted in the lobby or at the restaurant (currently mandatory, vaccinated or unvaccinated) which led to some awkwardness and confusion.
Based on the inability to enjoy or really even finish our food, it was overpriced. We tipped our 20%, because the waitstaff was genuinely friendly, but we won't ever be back. (Unless the only thing we want is beers on...
Read moreThis would be a 2-star review if the rooftop view wasn't amazing. The Rooftop has the least organized restaurant staff I have ever experienced. Service was awkward, clunky, and very disorganized.
Upon arrival for our reservation, staff had just given away the last 2-4 person outside table to a walk-in customer. We were offered a table inside, but let's be honest-- nobody comes to this restaurant to sit inside. It's all about the rooftop view. After an awkward exchange, staff hesitantly seated us at the largest outdoor table to fulfill our reservation. Throughout dinner, we witnessed staff asking other customers to move tables in order to accommodate others, and I overheard a handful of other customers expressing disappointment in their own service and seating experience.
While the drinks were fantastic, the food was very expensive for how basic and simple it was. I appreciate the vegetarian/vegan options on the menu, but the simple options leave much...
Read moreBeautiful restaurant, i love the style! Good spot for drinks but get food elsewhere. We were there during some pretty substantial wildfire smoke but i imagine the mountain views would normally be excellent. Our server, Megan, did a great job! The place is not cheap and that would be fine except the food was not up to par with the ambiance and the service. I was expecting better quality for that kind of money. The Margarita Flatbread sounds delicious but what we got tasted like a frozen pizza for kids. The salad and veggie-patty sliders were better than that but not fantastic. If it was cheaper or had better food it would be...
