I would first like to say that it is amazing to get some new cuisines and cultures reflected here in Central Oregon and I absolutely love supporting local small businesses and want this one to thrive.
That being said, there was another three star review on here that was very accurate to the experience that I had. I got two pretty basic Dishes: A Lomo Saltado and a fried chicken sandwich both of which were served with soggy fries likely out of a bag. The owner seems super sweet and I think the need for an authentic Peruvian market in Redmond is there. Unfortunately it is a bit of a racket and there is room for improvement. To reiterate what the other review experienced: you order the food and they run out to the food cart to start working on it before you actually pay. There is no pricing on the menu so when I got hit for $50 for these two super mediocre dishes and a couple of Coca-Cola’s, I paid the man, but was astonished.
All in all, I want them to succeed and maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I think this photo attached below could help others avoid the shocking experience I had or maybe help them improve their small business so that they can thrive...
Read moreUnfortunately this was a huge NO for us.
We ordered a ceviche as an app and I ordered the chicken dinner (requested white pieces) which came with French fries and salad. The hubby ordered the lomo saltado.
Over all the food was okay - we’re from FL and we have had some excellent Peruvian food.
Portions were small and they did NOT taste like the places back at home.
Another thing to point out is their weird setup. Meaning they have a food truck BUT you go inside the market to place your order/pay/sit and eat. The girl at the check out only takes your orders nothing else. We had to grab our own drinks and wait about 30 mins for our food to come out.
Needless to say, we didn’t eat most of it and ended up leaving.
But wait…… once we went to pay we were charged $94 which was EXTREMELY OVER PRICED.
Typically, a dinner of these small portions run about $14 back home.
Overall it was not a positive experience and I would not recommend this place for the money they are...
Read moreThis is a unique place for the area! There's a lot of Mexican food here but Peruvian is genuinely different so don't get those confused.
Food is expensive and everything is imported so it makes sense. However, that puts it out of reach as a regular food spot for me.
Everything is high quality so it is worth the price point. If you haven't peruvian food before I would go for the half chicken. It has a unique seasoning that elevates the experience in a big way.
Owner was nice, this place is definitely family owned. I wish the location wasn't directly off the highway but I could pretty much say that about any restaurant in rural...
