Chile Verde — Restaurant in Redondo Beach

I had been wanting to try this place, since it keeps growing with new locations. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly, and when I asked for recommendations that were without beef or chicken, the service attendant recommended exactly what I enjoy most, which is enchiladas and potato tacos! The potato taco had a lot of queso fresca on top, which I love, but I couldn't really taste the potatoes, they seem to be steamed and not pan fried. The cheese enchiladas were good, but I don't know if it's cinnamon or licorice flavoring in the sauce, but it really care for them too much, and there wasn't really much cheese pull inside. From the salsa bar, the mild salsa has a weird tomato paste flavor, a little too extreme for me. The food here is average at best. I ordered 3 burritos to go for me and my teenage kids last week since this place was on my way home, but oh man did we regret buying such uninspired, bland, and junky food. For the prices they charge, the food offered here should be far better tasting, but unfortunately it's nothing more than dry rice and beans burrito with bland meat that's not particularly fresh. Where's the fresh salsa, chilis, the pico de gallo, some onions, cilantro, possibly even mango salsa, or even some avocado or lime sprinkled on there? None of that goes on their plain jane burritos which wins them the memorable bland burrito award that people will not forget. And they will wonder why hardly anyone comes into their place while other restaurants within 4-5 blocks radius are doing far better business with...

We had a late night and we're trying to figure out where to eat,so we went to Chilled Verde. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and asked them to throw some cheese in there as well. My husband got the large wet carne asada burrito. My husband would have rather had carnitas but the me u didn't say anything about carnitas. We just noticed a sign below that had a special for carnitas burritos 🤷🏼‍♀️

The quantity of food was good but I feel like it was lacking taste. It just seems kind of bland which surprised me. We went on a Friday night and waited about 20-30 mins to get our food.
