hmmm…this was such a weird experience.
we were a group of 7 coming in for dinner on a sunday around 8 - 830pm. we all love in the area and have come here many times for dinner. we picked the spot specifically because we’ve had great experiences before. tonight, the food and drinks were good, but the service felt so aggressive and “off.”
we felt like the server and manager wanted us to get out from the moment we sat down. we were told we could not stand up, even though there were other patrons around us standing.
i would say this is a good chill spot for 2 - 3 people, but coming in as a group of 5+ is not the right choice. i spoke with the manager to understand why they treated us the way they did, and he said because other restaurants have been shut down for being too “bar like.”
i understand they want to ensure the restaurant is not in violation of any code. as patrons, we want the restaurant to stay open so we can keep visiting. but it’s very misleading when you offer a “clubby” service, welcoming customers with sparklers and tequila, blasting “shots” on the speakers, and you the proceed scold patrons for standing.
again…food is good, restaurant is nice, but weird experience and not risking your group’s experience / getting threatened to be kicked out because you met the...
Read moreWent to celebrate my daughter inlaws birthday. Got a surprise parking ticket . Turns out there's a Wellsfargo right next to the restaurant. There are signs posted in the lot that the parking is for Wellsfargo customers, but there's a catch. We were there after 7 pm. Wellsfargo is closed at that time. We parked our vehicles next to the wall of the Kalaveras building. When we left, all the vehicles in the lot had parking tickets charging $50 dollars for parking there. I returned to the restaurant to ask if they knew if Wellsfargo was already closed. The employee stated that Wellsfargo rents the lot to another company to rent the parking spaces. If you can see my pictures, their sign is posted at an angle that can't really be read unless you walk right in front of the sign. Once in front of the sign, you can see a barcode to pay for parking. Wellsfargo gets money for renting their lot after they're closed, and the other company gets their money back by issuing 50 dollar tickets. Shady and deceitful. They should be ashamed of them selves and should have an after hour sign stating the name of the company who is charging cars for parking in the lot labeled with their name and information instead of Wellsfargos parking spaces since they are closed after a...
Read moreThis location is not disabled people friendly. 2 friends and I went on Friday night 4/28/23. I adviced the host that is seating the guests that our friend has a disability and was not able to sit in the tall chairs. She refused to give us a table with low seats even tho there were available tables with low seats. As we helped our friend to sit in the tall seat the waiter came by and automatically assumed we were intoxicated and told me that we came in stumbling in. I told him twice that my friend has a disability where she eighter holds on to 2 people or she has to be in a wheelchair. He still refused to believe us and still assumed we were entoxicated and that his manager also said we were entoxicated. He said we were only allowed 1 drink. As soon as he served us 1 drink. He also brought out the check and that we were not allowed to get served anymore drinks. Don't assume that everyone with a disability is drunk and intoxicated. I will be making a formal complaint against this establishment for discriminating...
