Let me start off by saying wow. This place is amazing. Stumbled upon this place from reading all the reviews in the area and decided to give it a shot. We were instantly greeted by the hostess who was lovely. The aesthetic and the vibes are very pleasing you enter and first thing you notice is the art work throughout the walls the butterflies to the electric poles. This is my new spot when I’m in the area. They had some interesting choices on their menu. Of course with Covid they take their precautions by keeping you comfortable and safe. Everyone is wearing their mask and also have a list of how to keep everyone safe while these tough times. We ordered the baguette with the pate Which was so delightful the tomato sauce is really great paired with the butter and the pate. We paired it with a Pinot griogio and I had their whiskey tea which was so smooth. This is what we needed up starting our visit. Then we ordered the sea bass and the shaky shaky beef which was so good. The sea bass was cooked to perfection. The skin was crunchy and the fish melted on your taste pallets. The salad was great as well. The shaky shaky beef with the tomato rice was great it wasn’t heavy as I would expect it to be it was so good. The aroma and the taste made my mouth water. Pair it with the sea bass lord mercy it is a different experience. Ended the night with their famous opera cake. The chocolate gelato and the crunch of the pieces paired with cake is amazing. It wasn’t to sweet and honestly worth every single bite. Our waitress was spectacular. Everyone at this location is very friendly welcoming and also very attentive. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting. We had an amazing first experience be expecting us to come back. We will be looking forward to their brunch and lunch in the future thank you so much for your time and effort. Also making our experience memorable.

Behind Little Sister restaurant, there was a very inspiring story about its founder- Chef Tin. He single handily created the fusion Vietnamese restaurant chains and started Southeast Asian culinary trend in greater LA. Chef Tin’s food as he described in an interview, is about family. He created dishes that resembling what he used to eat at home with family. After seeing so many good reviews from some of the most prominent Yelpers, I decided to drive to Redondo beach to try out their food. Coming from the SGV where there are so many outstanding Vietnamese restaurants, I had high expectations as Chef Tin was also from the SGV. I expected the food would be miles better than what I used to here in our neighborhood. The first impression when we entered the restaurant was good. The decoration brought its patrons back to the colonial era with heavy French influences. Love the vibes with the big French windows and the long bars associated with a typical colonial restaurant in Vietnam. However, the food felt far short of my expectation. Despite its claim to be an improvement from SGV Vietnamese food, the fusion version offered here totally messed up the original Vietnamese flavor which should be aromatic and light. The food here, in order to cater to American taste, is very heavily seasoned and not much of the aroma typically emanates from the herbs. With the price 2 times more than the SGV restaurants, I expected a better Vietnamese food experiences. But I have to say the Banh Xeo was very good. I liked the crispy skins and the mixed of the veggies and prawns. I think mungbean was missing from the ingredients of this dish. I hope they have better foods in their other restaurants. Maybe the foods in their downtown LA one have better taste. We will try that locate next time.

Little Sister is a Vietnamese restaurant that serves food for decadents! Though I will first say the suon nuong (Lemongrass grilled pork chop and chicken fat rice) does take some time to be served (about 40 minutes) but it was definitely worth while, and possibly the best pork chop I have eaten in a long time, I would just add that the customers should be warned about this wait time prior to being served the dish. The pork chop was tender, sweet, lean, with a slight herb and smoke taste from the grill and rub, it was juicy and absolutely delicious and the chicken fat rice has a subtly sweet and buttery flavor. The Banh Mi had delicious huge pieces of crispy pork belly, a unique fried egg soft boiled egg, paired with what I think is jasmine rice. Overall, even though the wait time could be addressed the food I had at Little Sisters was absolutely amazing, I will try their noodles the next time I go, but it is about whether or not your patient enough to wait for good food (Only for some dishes though).

So lets start with “i never felt so unwelcome” service for a very long time. I was traveling and found this place on the internet saying its really good place and food is delicious. I have no complaints about food, but fish could be much better if they didn’t burn it. The moment server noticed my heavy accent thats where all started. He asked me if i was here first time and i said yes. Nothing, no explanation on the menu (even though i saw him explaining everything to a tables next to me) he brought me a cup of whatever and spilled all over my the table. Next i asked if i can be seated somewhere else, he rudely rolled his eyes and seated me on another table. It took him almost 20 minutes to bring my drink and again not the best way to put the drink. So, finally when they brought my introduction food, they didn’t even bother to bring me utensils until they saw me not eating. Server not even once come to ask me if everything was ok or if i wanted another drink (again, i saw him asking other tables multiple times). Finally, when i was done with my main dish after like 10 minutes he passed by asking if i want anything for desert. I asked him if i can have the menu, again menu (piece of paper was thrown at my table) this made so mad that i said I don’t want any desert and just bring me the receipt. Worst service...
