If Homestead is the king, and W. Campbell is the gold standard, then Walnut Street is… the understudy still learning their lines.

Don’t get me wrong—this spot knows how to hustle. Speedy service, hefty portions, and solid consistency on the basics. You’ll be in and out before you can say “mac salad upgrade.” But when it comes to flavor and quality? That’s where it falls short.

I ordered my go-to: garlic shrimp and beef short ribs. While the portion was generous, the shrimp lacked that buttery garlic punch, and the short ribs were a bit underwhelming—missing that deep, savory char that’s a signature at W. Campbell. It almost felt like someone dialed the flavor down to “safe mode.”

Still, if you’re in a rush and hungry, this location gets the job done. But if you’re after that real L&L experience, take the extra 10-minute drive to W. Campbell where they still cook like they’ve got something to prove.

I stopped by this place to grab something quick 2 eat. This was my first time at this location. I walked in the vibe was nice the place was clean and smelled hella good I was greeted by Nichol she took my order quickly. I asked how long will it be, and she said about 10 minutes, but it was a little quicker than that. The bbq chicken and beef plate was on point 👌🏾 I sat and ate with my son. The service was excellent. This location has that cool bayarea vibe that I'm used to. Ordered party platters for party of 30 the day before the party and it was ready on-time. Ordered medium trays but should have gotten small since we had other food. They are very generous and the meat is piled in the trays. We ordered spam musubi, chicken Katsu and bbq chicken. All were really good. I was eating the left overs for almost a week even after sending food home with everyone. Bbq was good everyday after. Katsu because it is fried was ok. I love the Katsu sauce.
