I've been coming to supreme crab since before they were even a buffet. There sauces is what kept me coming back. When they first started their buffet, it was great. They had dungeness crab galore. As time has gone on they have switched to snow crab. I get it, cheaper to supply the masses. But they should really change their name from supreme crab buffet to just sesfood buffet lol. I went to dinner on a monday night, it was fairly busy. I got up to get my food. Yes! Crab had just been brought out and there was a small line. The issue is though they only bring so much crab, and snow crab legs don't hold much meat, so people take a bunch. 3 people were able to be served on what was brought out. Unfortunately, I was the person who was next and now I had to wait. Sooo i waited and waited along with others, i waited 17minutes for crab to be replenished. Like come on seriously, you know the main reason people are here, the crab. I think that it's wrong that they have trained employees to tell people oh its coming out 2 more minutes everytime you ask. And I get it, that's their game. They don't have any crab out so people get full on other items. When you're sitting there, watching muscles and tons of garlic bread come out, but not the specific item that you came for its pretty sucky. The garlic noodes tasted like pasta. Other than that i usually eat shrimp and rice, the desserts are always good, love those little cakes. The bussing service is top tier, your dirty plates will never sit on your table too long. 1 star for rlthe service, 1 star for my shrimps. Other than that, I wish they would do better on providing more crab for all of the people that come in. Especially when they have a whole restaurant full of people they should...
Read moreI only have 1 photo to share because my hands got messy from cracking crab before I realized there were gloves available :) This location is a bit hidden on the peninsula, which is a good IYKYK spot. We came in for a late lunch/early dinner and bill was about $75 for 2 people. The wait staff do a great job of cleaning tables, regularly clearing plates and refilling/maintaining the buffet stations (2 hot, 1 cold), really appreciate that. The star of the show is obviously the snow crab, which has delicious Cajun seasoning with a slight sweetness. I sampled the peel and eat shrimp, fried breaded shrimp, Cajun shrimp, all are fairly ok. The garlic noodles kept me going back for more. Squeeze a few lemon wedges over them and a handful of crab/shrimp and you have a great garlic lemon seafood pasta dish. I love carbs so I had to also try the garlic bread: very pleasantly soft, buttery and crunchy around the crust. Great for sopping up sauce on your plate. The cold station offers various salad fare, desserts, even kimchi. Ambiance is a bit offputting. There was an incident at the booth behind us where a Karen went off of some customers and caused an embarrassing scene. The table across from us with 3 middle school boys got rowdy and started rough housing with their food. Whenever the crab reloaded, its like people were vultures hoarding from all sides. There was a customer in the ladies room who left without washing their hands. So be ready to deal with this type of nonsense. But I’m willing to give Supreme Crab a second try because the crab was actually very good and fairly...
Read moreThought I'd try this plce out on my trip to Redwood City. A seafood buffet sounded delicious. Not so much, unfortunately. First, I have to say the staff was wonderful. Very kind and sweet. After that, it goes straight downhill. An adult buffet costs $39.95, twice what would be appropriate, in my opinion. The tables are kept nice and clean but the rest of the place has a layer of dust from 1990. The floors were so greasy that I nearly slipped twice. The food? All was overcooked and super greasy. The crab legs and shrimp were as rubbery as erasers. The vlam chowder was bland and tasteless. The miso soup was extremely salty. There was no cocktail or tartar sauce, only some flavored butter. Drinks were not included either. Honestly, the best thing on the buffet was the pudding. And the garlic noodles were edible. And, I have to say, I'm not very picky when it comes to food. Do yourself a favor and just grab some frozen shrimp and eat at home. You'll thank me. Oh, and if you do decide to eat here after this review, don't park in back. The garbage dumpsters smell...
